Get Derrick to take a picture of the book you are using and post it here.

Mari

Thanks, that makes lots of sense. I have to enter it on the
computer. Its a data base. That we enter the information.

I believe the way you put it is a good start.

Thanks

Cool

Just a whine, no reply needed, lol
Ugh my brain just can't keep track. I did an Excel spread sheet and it worked better when I did enter initials for the type of contact:

For phone calls, L/M R/C left message, received call
TT RT travel to claim return to office

Mileage I always forget odometer readings....I write total mileage.
My time is clocked by increments of .1, .2, .3 etc up to 1.0 for one hr (6 minutes interval x 10 = 60 minutes). Ex: 1.5 is an hr and half.

I need to staple my receipts right to my appt book that day for gas, food, I forget and they get lost or misplaced..

I am terrible with tax deductible stuff, although we get back everything on standard deductions.

This is on top of Employer paperwork, it hurts my brain, makes me anxious and I swear I have ADD to have thigs soooo disorganized.

Red face

I use the day timer planner and have for 15 years. I love it.
It is also my wallet. and is the pocket size for easy storage in my small purse.
It has several parts to it. Includes an advance planner 16 month long. and then a monthly part that I take out and replace the new month which is 2 pages per day. I make most of my appointment months in advance. So when I have a new month I transfer all of my appointments from my long term planner to my monthly and the dates are indexed so you see the date and open right up to it, very easy to use! lots of space to make notes keep tract of mileage, expenses etc.
I am sure you could go to their website www.daytimer.com
and check them out.

Hi, Folks,

Big hugs:

I think a lot of us struggle with this.

Many years ago a roommate obeserved me and decided that I need to SEE my stuff.
So according to her and according to what I have learned I cannot do a file system for example.

And I always use clear envelopes and plastic containers. This is similiar to what I use when I can find them:

http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...ing-Envelopes/

http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...orage-_-139431

See-through document files: http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...Files/?cm_cat=

I label them with permanent marker or with file folders stickers.

I also like bulletin boards, cork boards, and white boards.
Things I take out of my purse go right to the clear plastic envelopes to be dealt with later.
Hubby handles the mail, but if it is something I am supposed to deal with, I put it on the cork board or put it in a plastic envolope.

Lately I have been taking pictures on my phone or iPad to help me. If it is a piece of paper, I write something on it like the date so I can remember it later.

If I could, I would have walls for filing.
I would nail my plastic folders to the walls around the room.

When I am keeping track of miles, I hit the odometer to zero. That helps as long as I remember to look at the number later.

I will admit to only using Excel one time and hating it.

Here is an excel-type app for the iPad for those who do use Excel.
It costs money and I cannot vouch for it because I have not tried it.

Thanks Mari
For the ideas. I will be working to make some changes. From
everyone's ideas. To make my everyday life easier.

A few years ago a co-worker made me a book to keep one copy
of everything we use. In our business, it has helped so much.

I have to clean it out and redo it soon. We have changed some
of our forms. So I need to keep up.

We have a Excel program created specifically for our travel.
Which is fantastic, because it was so hard to write it down and
get the numbers correct. So I am learning to use it correctly.

The part I need to work on is getting my book for the mileage
numbers back in the car. And I have to get my oil changed.

Ugh.

When I got my car in May 2011 it had less then 6,000 miles on it. Now it has 48,000. I can never remember to document the mileage. I get the google mileage for pay roll entry.

I need the oil changed desperately, ds said tomorrow, also breaks and routers all around. This is on both vehicles! I wish he did it before he went back to work instead of hanging with the gf any pare time, ergh!
Oh, tire rotated, but need to get to SAMs for that. Dh could take, just doesn't.

Too much burden for me, dd cyber schooling, work with three PT jobs, travel, home, brain can't manage it all.

Oh, Di,

That is too much responsibility.
I do not know how one single human being could do all that.
