Unhappy The unthinkable has happened AGAIN

I've been absent lately...been in quite a funk again. We can't seem to get out from under this black cloud that surrounds us. My daughter had another car accident last week, and has TOTALLED ANOTHER CAR, this time, our 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. I really loved that car... She's basically OK, but now she is afraid to drive, which means someone will always have to take her to her many appointments: DDS, hairdresser, doctors, etc, etc. This time, she misjudged the speed of an oncoming car she was going to turn in front of, and he was really FLYING, and hit her car very, very hard, which is why it is totalled. He was driving a pick-up truck, and didn't sustain much damage.

I am just so sick of insurance calls and forms . We are down to two cars now, which is okay since my husband and I go into work together. I just am so bummed out, tho, and feel bad for my dtr as well....

While I'm whining, I might as well also complain about the fact that I have been taking Procrit shots since last October to help my hemoglobin levels go up, and now, all these many months later, my levels are just about the same, which is not good - 9.5 instead of 14 or so, and 26.5 for hematicrit, instead of 34 and up... . No wonder I'm always tired still....

Not a happy camper right now....guess I just needed to vent a bit....

Thanks for listening! Jacquie

I am sorry to hear about your daughter's accident. I was in an accident in 1999 that totaled my car and I would not drive again until I was made to when my husband and I separated last year. Now I drive like a maniac again. Well, at least when I'm upset it seems I do. Don't mind my poor sense of humor.

Red face

Oh jacquie....
this is awful.
I really feel for you.
Accidents happen all of the time...I am sure your daughters confidence is shaken....
I hate left turns and only make them when I have to usually just turn right then turn around....when it is safer.
forms can be so frustrating to fill out and follow up on etc.
I wish you wellness.
((((HUGS))))

Heart

Oh, ((((((Jacquie)))))),

I'm glad no one got hurt except for your poor little car.

I remember my second car accident. The first one should have been the one that scared the living daylights out of me, but it didn't. The second one, my brother and I were taking separate cars from South Carolina to Massachusetts.

I still say there was something wrong with the car. It just sort of slid sideways into one of those dang drainage ditches that they have in North Carolina. The road had the slightest little curve in it. It took me six months to be able to drive around curves in the road at full speed -- in Massachusetts (which is a scary place to drive in anyway ).

She'll be out driving again soon -- as soon as you can find a car with tank armor around the full perimeter

Sorry to hear your health is not tip-top right now. Bumping you back up on my prayer list

MAJOR HUGS to all the carbon lifeforms and belly rubs for the fur lifeforms. And love for you

Do me a favor remind her that the flying like a bat is the one that was in the wrong.

And that we are just glad she wasn't hurt.

Its really hard to know that though at the time.

Jacquie I am so sorry to ehar about the ongoing tough time you are all having. Thank goodness she was not hurt. I can;t blame ehr for not wanting to drive. Maybe when she heals a bit taking a devensive driving course will help her regain her spirit to drive.

I hope that your luck changes and and less stress and better health take a turn in your direction. Wht is plan B if the shots did not work, would you need a transfusion?
I feel so bad for all this stress,
Hugs to you
Di

Okay catch up question....how old is your daughter? I am sure you mentioned it once but I don't remember. As for driving again, its like falling off a horse, unless you get right back on, the fear will always be there. Start her out by asking her to move the cars in the driveway for some reason or other. Not in the next few days but in a while. Slowly she will eventually have to drive. She will be fine.
As for the paperwork, ick! It must be a pain!
Moose! I must defend driving in Massachusetts! We aren't the worst drivers, just the most aggressive.
As for your Procrit shots Jacquie, I understand how you feel. I also have iron issues and have to take a separate iron supplement everday. Luckily it is not a shot.
Keep your head up. It will clear up soon.

Oh J - I am so sorry about the accident, I am glad your daughter wasn't injured.

I think after some time pass's she will want to drive again.

I was in a 3 car pile up car accident in the snow years ago, and after I was scared to death to drive in the snow, but it passed. I hope you are feeling better soon too.

Hugs, Nikko

Oh boy Jacquie, that is so terrible, I really hope she can get behind the wheel again and feel her confidence returning. It's tragic she's had another accident like this, but it's just what the word says, an accident. They happen and she could go the rest of her life without having one from here out. I just hope she gets her confidence back. I know how hard it is to be one of the only ones driving in your house and be the one to go run all the errands and shopping because no one else drives or is willing to go out and get things done.

Hang in there Jacquie, it will get better hopefully.
