Haha that's cool. :) I always liked shooting pool... I am awful at it too. Sounds like you and I should play, lol. We could toss back mini smoothies instead of "drrink" drinks. :D

bizi 08-08-2014 08:29 AM

Thanks I feel fine this morning.
Had a kale, fig, blueberries, almonds, 1/2 scoop of protein powder, milk smoothie this morning. the nutribullet did not chop up all of the almonds this morning, may rethink this and use almond milk instead of milk and full scoop of protein powder.
I thought the figs would make it sweeter, did not so may use stevia to sweeten it. kind of bland.
bizi
pool would be fun with you waves!

Something you said that kind of implied it had had this effect:

That's also why I commented how being sick turned me off of hard liquor.

It is ok bobby,
I don't wish being that sick on any body.
I drank impulsively adding the shots with out thinking about the consequences. I normally drink 3 ciders with out a problem.
I also drank on an empty stomach.
We are going to pensicola next weekend for a couple of days, I know that I will be drinking bush whackers and walking the beach and eating good food.
Should be fun. Will be careful to not drink too much.
thank you for your support and I am sorry that you grew up in that environment.

ate a sinfully rich lunch today.
New orleans style BBQ shrimp.
shrimp cooked in a spicy lemony buttery sauce with a corn grits cake and a ceasar salad.
24 ounces of angry orchard cider.
I am so full!
I don't think I will be eating any dinner.

I have eaten more fruits today than usual.
blueberry smoothie with spinach
fresh peach which was delicious!
lunch had a big salad with berries (strawberries, blueberries and cranberries) and grilled shrimp. It was tasty. Had a vinaigrette with some honey in it which was good.
My afternoon schedule was a bust today, 3 cancellations and one newly scheduled client not for another 1 1/2 hours. So I should do some paper work since I have this free time. Hate paper work. Oh well I always wait till I am behind then just make myself sit down and do it.
We are going to the beach on friday for a couple of nights...I just started (TOM) so the heaviest day will be tomorrow so that will be good so by friday it will be better.
I can't wait to go thru menopause but don't want the symptoms.
Make it a great day.

Gosh, you eat good food, bizi.

I'm feeling quite peckish just around now.

Dmom3005 08-12-2014 08:55 PM

Okay I had a great day.

First Will, Derrick and I went to eat breakfast before PT.

Then I went to PT, learned the swelling has gone down alot.
And I have been able to walk around the bathroom with it.
I was also able to wash my hair last night. Wow, that felt good.

Still no showers back to sponge baths. My hope is over the weekend,
maybe.

If not next week. On Monday I go back to orthopedic.

bizi 08-13-2014 10:14 AM

Since my drunkiness of last thursday, I have had 1 1/2 pints of cider on sunday at a restaurant with friends and nothing this week. We are going to the beach on friday. looking forward to that.
Last night I snacked on a BOWL of nuts...it was at least half of a cup at least of peanuts and salty smoked almonds, more like a cup if I were truthful...sigh
148 this morning and it is TOM so that is pretty good of a number, am happy with that.
Jeff is gone for the day going to houston to take a guitar to be put on consignment. It is a 4 hour drive if her doesn't run into rush hour traffic. He will be back tonight. We are finished watching Lost for the 5th time. Now we started watching Downton Abbey again, loved that!
I did not have a client this morning so am being lazy in my pj's still.

Have not been going to the gym, keep telling myself that I will go when I have lost more weight. I have no energy after dinner, that is when I usually go. I wonder if this is more perimenopausal symptoms????

I have been on the internet for hours, this is a real addiction for me.
Something that I can't handle at times.

Hi Bizi,

yes that is a good number for the timing... tend to retain water around this time, so you might see couple pounds drop off over the next few days. :)

You have been really good with the alcohol. You seem to be consuming less of it when you do happen to have it.

I've read it's best to exercise after only a very light snack if that... something like juice or a banana at most, not a full meal.

I personally get tired after eating, and that is fairly common -- not sure but I believe it has to do with blood flow to the stomach. It is more noticeable after bigger meals.

bizi 08-13-2014 10:58 AM

We usually have dinner around 6 and I would wait 2 hours to go to the gym and just walk on the tred mill. no strenuous exercise.
I just need to make myself want to go. UGH!
wish it were not such a chore. I really need to be exercising. I am helping to plan a trip to new york next year in August with my parents. There will be lots of walking. I have a whole year to "train".

The good news is, even if you don't train for the city, the city will sure as hell train you! :D

Also city walking is different than tread mill. You do a lot when you do walk it, and you do some incline, too. Seriously, you will be fine for the trip. ;)

Not trying to discourage you from exercising. The tread mill is good ... I hope you will be able to pick up going again. Like me with the stepper sigh. I put myself out of commissioin -- knee accident this morning, but when it feels better I really need to get with that program!

If you can't get back into the gym things. Try just going for walks,

sure with your job daily.

So the trip will be fine as Waves says.

Hi everyone

Update of sorts, I am working with some parents again.
For that fact I have one to call this afternoon. My only
problem is if one will need me right away I have to locate
an driver which isn't always easy. Since mine is out right now.

I also have a few volunteers that are still working with parents.
So if its something that needs handled right away, maybe one
can help.

But it sounds like a case conference is needed.

Welcome back! :) Glad to hear you had fun at the beach. :)

bizi 08-17-2014 11:13 PM

Friday We packed up my red honda fit and drove 6 hours to pensacola beach florida! Santa Rosa Island to be specific.
Beautiful weather. Checked in to our room for the next 48 hours of vacation.
Put on my customary blue floral floor length mu mu and headed to the tiki hut next to the water.
Dawn, our favorite bartender was still there, she seemed to recognize us....
Started right off with my favorite rum ice cream drink the famous "bush whacker". and then another favorite: key lime pie shots.
My eyes were bigger than my tummy and I got bush whacked.
Had a great dinner of Grilled mahi mahi with a side of spinach.
That night in the dark, we walked along the beach and watched the waves and stars for hours. There is this phenomenon that occurs there called bioluminecense photo plankton. Right at the water edge when the waves come in and out you run your fingers into the sand and they sparkle, the photo plankton sparkle. It is awesome! We are not sit in the sun people we like walking on the beach and playing with the plankton! LOL
The next morning for breakfast we went to the native cafe just a block from the motel.
I had a huge seafood omelet...discovered that I do like scallops after all.
After breakfast we drove over a long bridge that separates the island from the mainland to the naval base. Last year we toured the navel aviation museum, that was amazing! This year we went to the light house and toured their little museum and We were going to walk up the light house. 177 steps.
However I could not wear my sandals and would have gone barefoot to walk up the steel steps. I only made it a dozen stairs to decide that my bare feet could not handle that. So Jeff went up with out me.
It is a still functioning light house. He made the journey and enjoyed the views. I will be better prepared when we go back. Truth be told, I don't think that I would have been physically able to climb those stairs. So my goal is to be in better shape. I have a vacation planned for August next year, going to the big apple to see the museums and the phantom of the opera. There will be lots of walking while in new york. That gives me about a year to lose this extra weight and get in better shape. I want to be able to keep up with my parents!
For dinner, we drove into pensacola and ate at our favorite steak house called Mcguires.
We ended up eating at the bar, would have been a long wait.
Hubby ordered a big ribeye and I ordered the tuna.
Hubby loved his steak and I sent back the first one because it was over cooked.
When my meal came back it was perfect. I LOVED this dish. The tuna rested on a pile of wasabi coleslaw. It was delicious! That was the best tuna I have ever had. It came with a side of creamed spinach which was wonderful.
We both were stuffed!
Went back to the beach which is across the street from our motel which is located on the sound side body of water. There is a dock there and boats pull up and anchor themselves to the dock then they come up for live music and food and drinks. We stopped at a publix grocery store and bought some fish food and chips which hubby feeds to the seagulls.
This morning hubby ate a bagel and I had a wonderful smoothie from this organic store down the street. It had collard greens, spinach, mangoes, blueberries, raspberries, coconut milk, tumerric, and don't remember what else. It was very good, even hubby said he liked it. He doesn't really like mine at home, too green for him and not sweet enough.
WE went down to the dock to feed the fish our food which they really got excited and jumped up to try to get the food. these fish were small, like 3 inches. It was fun.
WE checked out of the hotel had a couple of bush whackers and drove home.
About an hour from home we Stopped in Baton Rouge and had a great dinner at the Chimes restaurant at the LSU campus. Had my favorite dish called new orleans style BBQ shrimp. 10 butterflied shrimp sauteed in a buttery peppery, sauce served with a corn grit cake and a ceasar salad.
One word: Delicious.
Got back home around 730pm. I am still full and it is 11pm. LOL
Great trip! Gulf seafood, you can't beat it!
Start back on my diet tomorrow!

Wonderful weekend, sounds like, Bizi.

How romantic, walking the beach at night, with the water lit up with plankton.

(I would love to see that. :))

Bizi,

Such a lovely account of your weekend.

Pensacola is one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole world.

I am glad that you both had a good time and I loved hearing about feeding seagulls and fish.

Oooooohhhhh !!!! Sounds like a super awesome weekend Bizi !!! I miss the beach so much. Havent seen the sea in the last 12 years or something... I think the sand and nice weather is always curative :) Glad to read you had a great time !!!

bizi 08-18-2014 07:46 PM

This morning had a smoothie with watermelon and kale and protein powder and frozen mangoes, stevia was very good.
Had grilled shrimp for lunch with kale and chard and beets.
Then we went out to eat dinner at coyote blues restaurant.
Had many margaritas and crab cakes and chicken and sausage soup was very good.
They even had a bushwhacker on the menu so had to try it...was not as good but enjoyed it just the same.
Did not sleep well last night so hope fully will sleep better tonight.

Thosee bushwackers sound so good... remind me what it's in it again? Rum and chocolate milk is it? Am I missing something. Baileys maybe?

One of these days, ok, maybe not soon with the stomach thing, lol, but eventually.... I'll go to a nice bar and have them make me one.

Or catch up with my friend who likes to indulge...a nd make em ourselves! :D

this one tonight had rum, kahlua, baileys and ice cream. yum!
bizi
Preparation:

  1. Blend all ingredients with approximately 1 cup of ice.
  2. Pour into a hurricane glass.

waves 08-18-2014 09:03 PM

Ohh geeez! Good luck me finding cream of coconut arund these parts. Or dark rum for that matter, though that would be less hard than the former.

Next time I go to the islands I guess. Ha, who knows if that'll ever happen.

Ah well. I will justt have to enjoy them vicariously, through your anniersary trips to Pensacola! :D

Thanks though. I appreciate the recipe. I am going to save it out. One never knows, right?

waves 08-18-2014 10:10 PM

My eyes jumped ahead to the bulleted ingredient list (I take it the "official" ingredients) so I missed this:

This is more doable.

I was thinking, too, we could probably make our own facsimile, more similar to the original, say with cooking cream and coconut milk, instead of coconut cream and milk.

Investing in three liqueurs to make a single cocktail is a bit of a whopping expense too. I suppose we could sub out either the chocolate liqueur or the kahlua using an extra shot of rum plus either chocolate ice cream or coffee ice cream, instead of cream.

Hmmm. I will have to think this over. I am going to come up with budget-friendly bushwacker for when my stomach behaves. :D Hmm....

Idea:
-- 3 oz rum
-- 1 oz espresso
-- 1 oz chocolate ice cream
-- 2 oz coconut milk

That should roughly cover the bases of taste and texture.

Oh wow, I just realized. My friend has home made walnut liqueur. We could make a variation with that, instead of coconut. :D Coffee-chocy-walnut. Yum.

waves
I fear we could get very trashed with such experiments.
