I'll be glad when I can start seeing things like this again.

It looks like the what's left of that storm is going to be coming this way Thursday night. It will probably be broken up by the Blue Ridge Mountains before it comes over here.

A tree climber said he could see the Blue Ridge Mountains from a tree in my yard,so they are not to far away. The mountains break up storms, like hitting land breaks up a hurricane.

Now if a storm is coming in from the Southeast,or North, that brings a different outcome usually. BF

Steve, are you close to Interstate 81? We thought about taking that south to Orlando through the mountains.

Weather went from 80 to only 60's tomorrow. It is about 60' out now in the city, but chilly up in the mountains.
Saturday and Sunday it mays not get out of the 50's. I guess our Summer is really over. I've been staying up far to late, I have to go down three morning at 3:45 am to dgs for ds to leave for work.

I think he will be home again tomorro, he's been sick with soar throat, upper respitory and fever since Sunday. Hope I can get at least a few hours of sleep, I only had three last night.
Good to read my friends.

Di I'm sorry that you have been sick. I hope that you feel better soon. Rts 81,64,and 95 are not to far away. Rt.81 is a dangerous highway, and I would avoid it from what I hear. Rt. 95 would probably be better, but it gets really busy around any cities, and I've seen the worst,of the worst driving on Rt. 95.

I have a CB radio in my car,and I get all of the traffic updates. There where two accidents on Rt 64 the other day when I had to go to town to see my NP,but I knew about it before hand because the truckers where rambling on,and on about it. It some times makes me laugh to hear them go on,and on about things. They are the basic kings of the roads, but they don't own them, and have to abide by the rules like the rest of us. They were saying that people were having accidents because they are on Cell phones. I keyed my microphone and said it's not the cell phones,it's the texting. It's probably both. BF

Rain.

Is anyone comforted by rain?
Or maybe ok with rain -- do not care either way?

I find it agitating.

Any rain bothers me. --- And clouds in the distance that might be rain clouds are a problem as well.

Thunder is worse.

We have rain and thunder right now.

First, I prefer to clouds.

Hey Mari. I don't like the thunderstorms because of my receiver antennas on top of the house.

I don't really like the regular rain. People always say that we need it.

That big storm system missed this county. I was hoping that it would. BF

Yes. I love the smell of rain, and the feel of it if it is light enough to be able to stand in. When I lived in the warmer climates, I used to go for walks in the rain.

When I am indoors, I find its pitter patter soothing.

I like thunderstorms too. I do not go out in them, but I like the sights, smells, and sounds. I miss the kinds of powerful thunderstorms I had in other places.

I also like cloudy days as long as it is not all the time. Then it gets dreary. But when the fall between sunny days, it feels like a relief to me. Sun all the time is almost like pressure. Rain or just clouds are a relief from that.

There's also something else. If I'm down, I feel slightly better if it's overcast or raining. Then I feel as though the weather is on the same page as me. Mood-congruent weather, I call it.
===================

I've often wished I could give you a bit of my love for rain. I know you hate it, and I probably like it enough for the both of us, and then some. I am sorry you are having this weather that makes you uncomfortable.
