Here we were miserable because of the high humidity --- deep dampness:

80 percent humidity as opposed to a normal day this time of year at 64 percent.

It did not help that my building felt as cold or colder than the outside.

I do wear socks in the house -- but I have tons of pairs and I keep throwing them in the washing machine -- (a different situation entirely)

My friend lent me a sweatshirt today. I feel so much better already. I realized part of the problem was I didn't have anything loose-fitting -- the one pile jacket I have would have been comfortable for the return trip, and an evening here and there, but I have been living in it, even sleeping in it at times. Not as comfortable for that. I'm working on the sweatpants. I have to go to walmart.

Fortunately I brought a ton of socks, of different kinds too. I used them to plug holes in the suitcase as I figured one can never have too many socks. I am usually a barefoot person, which in the cold translates to having socks on almost all the time.

I did get to do wash which helped because I was running out of T-shirts and my jeans needed it. I ended up in a wetlands with my white jeans too -- those had to go to the dry cleaner.

I am trying on layers of light things and not happy with any of them because they look stupid AND because I am still cold when I walk outside.

The only way I convinced myself that it is o.k. to leave my house is that I easily found a nice pair of gloves in my bottom draw.

Another cooler day than I would want -- Friday will be a high of 73.

It will be overcast.

And the rooms will have a/c set so high that we will keep the doors open to let in some "heat."
