Thanks, Mari.
I was up at sunrise this morning. Most anticlimactic, that was. I watched and waited as the deep grey sky very slowly, and only very slightly, lightened to reveal a monochromatic world. There has to be an invisible sun.... I guess. Ain't no visible one around here for sure. I am not usually subject to seasonal depression, but I think part of my sadness this time may have to do with the sudden seasonal change I went through. After five weeks of blue skies and sunshine, I was plunged directly into perpetual drabness. I missed the transtion. I missed that pretty part of fall, when the trees come alive with color against foreboding skies that warn of winter, and finally create a fiery carpet of leaves that dance in the wind and crackle mischievously under one's feet. All of that is gone, leaving only a shadow world of naked trees shrouded in gloom. But finally, Winter is here. I guess I have to hold out for the Wonderland. waves |
