Dear BF,

I am so thankful that you are better today and did not act on your thoughts and feelings last night. And night time is always the worst.

We love and care about you and I wish sometimes we could be there in 3d for each other.

Its hard sometimes I know. In the past people have often let me down. I once went to a hypnotherapist that explained that it was my expectations that I apply to other people was why I often felt so let down. And that most of these people did not even know I had these expectations of them so how could they live up to them. So I try to remember that when people let me down and adjust my expectations to what people can really deliver on.

Everyone here gave such great adviceand I always learn so much. I might even go and get the books that Barb recommended.

I am just happy to have you here and in my life BF. I sure hope your cold is getting better.

I had a colonoscopy and had to do it all alone as well. I actually took a cab back and forth once I was able to travel.

Sending you and

Hi BP and Mari, Donna and Shelly.

I am starting to feel better today. When I feel better I usually have school, therapy, appts, and now soon to be a group to go to. Mind you, I'm still not wanting to do much as the anti-biotics haven't worked yet but at least I'm not so spaced out from the Sudafed the doc should have never put me on last week. My pain has improved a lot even though at times even that will hurt bad, just not as much. I will make more of an effort tomorrow to be around people.

Hi BF, glad your starting to feel better. Not preaching here but I was very depressed and feeling alone as I had lost many friends to my chronic pain. I happened to meet some people that were the most alive couple. They invited me to their church and I have made many friends there.

I go by myself as my kids don't want to go and neither does hubby and it is kind of nice to have that to myself because that is what I needed at the time. Now I am hoping they will start coming with me too.

Now I am not telling you that you need to go to church but the example is that I went outside of my comfort zone and opened up to other people. I even signed up to help out at their vacation bible school. There are many opportunities to volunteer, maybe you could check into something like that. I used to go to a retirement home and just be there for someone to talk to.

I really wish that we lived closer because I think you would be alot of fun to hang out with. You are special, needed and you are not alone. How are the flowers doing? Mine are all in bloom...Sue

Default I'm here for you!

Dear Barbara;

A few years ago I thought I was going to loose my husband and I was never so scared in my entire life. I was terrified about everything but what scared me so much was being alone.

I have also been suicidal but never hospitalized. I probably should have been but since my mom spent most of my childhood in a state facility getting shock treatments, I kind of have a fear of hospitals!

We moved to this town 4 years ago and I still do not have one close friend. I met some nice ladies but my pain caused me to cancel some dates and after that they stopped calling.

But something happened to me last month. I wanted to stick around and see what happens. I want stick around, even if I end up a widow, my life will be what I make it and right now, I'm ok with everything. Come and be a part of my life online, Barb, ok???

Love ya,
Nancy-H

You can't have any pets? not even a parakeet or gerbil?
something small and contained in a cage? verses a dog or cat?

If you can't have anything furry or feathered - a nice fish or 2 in a tank might be a nice idea- plus they say it is calming to watch them.

Is there any clubs or classes available for you to sign up for.
Or even some volunteer things?
where you can get out to meet others that will be interested in things you like to do?

Thanks all.

I sat outside and watched the children play this evening. Not much else other than that since I kicked one neighbor out of my house this past Sunday and the neighbor I had the crush on and me seem to be avoiding each other. I think a few Gold fish would be nice.

Barb - I've been AWOL for quite awhile now, but I am glad that you posted your thoughts, and so glad to hear all the good advice and that you are feeling better!

You mentioned goldfish (for a minute there, I thought you were talking about the crackers ) Well, that's a great idea but I have a suggestion for a more interesting, more beautiful and very hearty fish - called the Beta fish. They are also known as Japanese fighting fish, which means that you can only put one in a bowl - if you have more than one, they actually do FIGHT! We've had one for a long time now, and they last years, often. They come in all sizes and colors, and have beautiful fins that look really neat as they flutter along. You only need to clean the bowl every few weeks, if you want to. Petsmart and all pet stores have them, and all the supplies you would need. Read up on them, there are some interesting facts about them, too!

Keep up the good fight, and keep posting here!

Jacquie

**CORRECTION - they are called Siamese Fighting Fish, and it's spelled betta. Here's a pix of one:
