Sending good thoughts your way, Mari.

Good to hear the lower Verapamil seems to be working out well for you.

And as far as work, that Work Buddy is helping you feel ok and stay with it.

Good luck with the next few difficult days. I too hope you can rest some over the weekend.

Arrow Feel awful physcially

1 I feel sick. If I can talk myself into it, I will do a few moments of knee exercises and some yoga.

2 I feel sleepy even though I did sleep. I do not think I should "nap" before "bedtime."

3 Perhaps it is time to eat some different food.
I have lots of broccoli in the freezer. Also one Amy's Garden Vegetable Lasagna: http://www.amys.com/products/product...en-free/000041
Edible stuff in the fridge includes cherry tomatoes, yellow squash, cucumbers.
Non-edible (old) stuff in the fridge that has to be tossed in the trash includes lots of lettuce.

4 Hubby agreed to vacuum the whole place. It is crawling with dust and covered in dirt. (I will try to continue ignoring the presence of dirt.)

5 Also, ants have come back.

Default meds recording

Slight increase in Klonopin for the next 7 days

Trying to keep up with medications:

The newest pdoc initially wrote me a script for Klonopin of 45 pills a bottle of 2.0 mgs.
Instructions are to take 2 and half pills per day.
That is not what I take.
The other pdocs gave me a different strength of pills (75 pills of 1 mg ) that had me taking two and a half pills at 2.5 mgs.

====
In an effort to be a little under the prescribed dose and to have some extras around and to be closer to tapering in case I need to in the future, I
I normally take this:
1 1/4 pills every other day and 1 pill the other days.
(Four days a week take 1 1/4 and three days take 1 pill of 2mgs)

====

This week I need more klonopin because I am tense due to work and sleep problems.

This is what is in my pill minder from Monday to Sunday this week:
2.5 mgs some days and 2.25 some days.

------
+++
I had to get Hubby to listen and watch because I was going back and forth with strengths and manufacturers because it is easier to break up the small strengths and yet I only have a few and want to save them.

This was complicated in the pill minder by the fact that the Verapamil is every other day (120 some days and 240 other days).
So this week four days I take 240 Verpamil. Three days of 120 Verpamil.
On the days I take less Verapamil, I take more Klonopin.

Bizi,

Yes, it was a long note.
And it might have some errors, but typing it helps.

Eeks, I can imagine, with the halves of different pills in there too, doesn't help... sigh.

This makes very good sense.

I hope this work week is kind to you, despite its intensity. You did a great job of sorting all of the meds out to help yourself get through it.

Default Re Gluten Free -- Chronic Fatigue, Diabetes, Bipolar, General Health

Hi,

In another thread, Bizi mentioned Gluten Free so I am responding here.
Mdoc has fairly recently tested me two ways for gluten sensitivity:

1. Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies (tTG-IgA)
Read more at http://celiac.org/celiac-disease/dia...F22Lwqyz5Z7.99
2. Genetic Testing

I was negative for both. Even so, mdoc prefers that I not eat gluten because
a) people who have tested negative can still have celiac because the true test is to send in a scope to take biopsies of the intestines.
b) according to her, people should not be eating much wheat

Re a) I happen to know that this is true --- that people who pass the blood tests can still have celiac.
This might seem weird but it has been a "hobby" of mine to study this for the past fifteen years.
I am glad that she tested me and I feel comfortable with the knowledge that blood work came out negative.

I buy gluten free soy sauce and gluten free bread for hubby.
I made a house "rule" that we eat it only if/when we are out -- thus limiting our in take.
We do eat wheat at home but much less than most people.

I really cannot explain my interest in this except that
~ I ran into this when I was chasing reasons for Chronic Fatigue
~ when I am off gluten for three or four weeks I do feel much better in my head. . . . Head is clearer. Brain Fog is reduced.

When hubby eats Gluten two days in a row he feels like carp.
Advocats for a GF life say that ONE reason some people feel good when they go low carb is not because of the carbs of because of not eating wheat.

======
There are lots of people in my life with the "genetic disposition" for high blood sugar/diabetes/ serious / over the top problems due to sugar/carbs that I promise I will not describe beyond listing:

current husband's mother died from heart disease related to diabetes
first husband major ill (then I lost contact on purpose, so I do not have an update)
one bil, one sil, colleagues at work, a close friend, another close friend, another close friend, step-relatives on my father's side, students who tell me about being assigned as care giver to a relative who has complications of diabetes, . . .

So diabetes has impacted my life in traumatic ways and I support anyone who wants to go low carb.
I made too many points for one point. Sorry.
I woke up from a nap and wanted to say this before I figure out how to convince myself to go to bed.

====
Oh, and we have evidence that Low Carb High Fat can improve the lives of some people with epilepsy.
There is a tiny bit of evidence that Low Carb High Fat can help some people with bipolar but there is not enough interest in serious studies--- one group of scientists could not find volunteers, . . . no drug company has an interest in it. . . .

Waves,

I appreciate very much that you confirmed my math and my plan (and read through all of that.)

I was not sure I got it down right until I heard from you.

Thank you.
