Even though he's new, I dislike the fact that he didn't "register" -- in the form of some notes some place, if not in his brain -- that verapamil is your mood stabilizer. I guess if you've only seen him once before, he might have wanted to make absolutely certain this is a stabilizer.

I don't suppose you mentioned to him that you had reduced the verapamil recently?

Pdoc considerations aside, since you are having more anxiety/tension/freakouty feelings, would you consider bumping your verapamil back its prescribed dosage?

I run short on Verapamil.

That is why I reduced it for a few weeks.

I remember too, there were repeated issues with the pharmacies screwing up and giving the wrong generic, and having to chase that down, and sometimes needing a new script... sigh. All of that is a pain on the best of days, and a big worry every time renewal comes around.

I just wonder if perhaps, going through your gp, you might not have better responsiveness in cases where the silly pharmacy screws up....

I'm also wondering if your GP might not write you a temporarily higher prescription -- say double your dose so you get twice the pills of same strength, for just one month -- with the sole purpose of giving you a reserve supply.

I am just trying to think of some practical and not-too-labor-intensive solutions that could be put into place, so that you wouldn't be out of med when the issues come up.
