Hi, And how did it go? Mari |
I saw my new Doctor today.
Filled out a lot of forms and they took a thorough history. Went over my meds/vit/supplements. I liked her staff, very nice. Her office is 3 miles from my home, and she takes my insurance! I liked her alot. She spent about 30 minutes with me. She is young and energetic. I was very honest with her about my concerns about my alcohol usage and leaving my other GP doc because of her being "judgemental"I did not tell her about the whole computer portal mess. I did not get a sense of that from my new mdoc. She wants me to come up with new activities. Worried that I only have on-line connections, I told her that I have a therapist that had been seeing and will be able to see her if I need her. I told her about our new health insurance plans and $4K deductible and how I could not really afford to see her anymore. She agreed to write my scripts for my bipolar meds since they have been unchanged for 8 years and I am stable now. Even so she wants me to continue to see my pdoc just in case I need her....I canceled my next appointment with my psych doctor. Not sure how to approach this with her. Maybe she won't see me once a year???? I see my new doctor again in 4 months for a med check then again in dec for my wellness/pap/bone density/labs. She really does think holistically.... She even told me about a medication for my raynauds if it gets worse. I spoke with her about my worsening neck issues and she told me that she could treat me with hands on treatments as half of her practice deals with ortho issues. She is a doctor of osteopathy, not an MD. She doesn't have hospital admitting privileges. But they have hospitalists if I have an emergency. WE had our friends over for dinner tonight. I cooked a shrimp boil with corn and red potatoes. Paul made a wonderfully fattening asparagus/bacon/onion dish. It was delicious. I bought a small chocolate cake and had them write "I heart U Susan" After dinner we watched a short movie about a 109 year old woman who was the oldest living jewish natzi camp survivor. She played piano still and lived alone. She has since died, the movie is a couple of years old. It was very heart warming. Our friends stayed to watch it with us. Then jeff and I rewatched the final episode of downton abbey. LOVED IT! 36 days AF....longest streak in a year! bizi |

7 miles again on the tred mill, 2 hours 3.5mph. Hard finishing this time.
machine said I burned 500 calories. that might cover the sausage in my gumbo today...lol Going to have chicken salad and tomato lentil soup for dinner tonight. then we are going to a cd release party downtown, for Fawn Larson. We will go early to get good seats. bizi Just got back from her concert. She did a good job! Jeff had played guitar on one of her songs on the cd so she gave us tickets to her concert. She also found out that 2 of her songs will be used for the remake of black beauty movie. |
Started off the day with organic freshly ground coffee, heavenly. ( it is actually cheaper than the regular coffee that I was drinking but much fewer pesticides)
Went to breakfast had 3 scrambled eggs with spinach and a side of black bean salsa on top of the eggs, with a side of brocolli. Delicious! Came home and had an organic very ripe pear. very juicy. That makes 3 veggies and fruit for breakfast! I am trying to eat better. Made another pot of coffee, I use pasture raised half and half cream and stevia to sweeten my cofffee. Plan is to do paper work, I am always behind, think I will use the timer again. Hope to scrub the kitchen floor too. It is a rainy gloomy day perfect for staying in and getting some things done around the house and office. bizi |
Snow Snow and more snow here. Not sure how much we have yet.
But I'm guessing between 5 to 7 inches. And we aren't done from what I hear. Will is snowed in at his other Grandma's house. So he wont be going either way to school tomorrow. He isn't in the state testing so it really doesn't matter. Donna :grouphug: |

That is a lot of snow. That is nice that Will has two grandmothers. Do you both live sort of close? Mari |
