. My support comes from here. I don't have many in my family I see regularly. Since there is a distance.
POST MORE! bobby |
Thanks everyone. I know you are here for me. Thats why I've been
here for so long. I found something I've needed for a long time. I at one point when my guys were young had a support group once a week. But that just wasn't enough most of the time. Donna :hug::grouphug: |
Hi, Donna,
We want good things for you and your loved ones.:):):):):):):):) M |
Thanks Mari,
I do too. Donna :hug::grouphug: |
I've been thinking especially about Dan and the addition of the Depakote, and was wondering if he has seen any results yet. Is he the son who has the very nice girlfriend?
Also thinking of your sister with BP. Does she update anyone in the family about her progress, or does she keep her MH information very private? It's not that I'm not concerned about your mother or other sister because I am, and I want them both to be well. It's that I can relate to the struggles I face managing bipolar disorder myself. Kay |
I haven't gotten a update yet about Dan. His girlfriend her name is Kortni
is not feeling well right now. She probably has a ear infection. The medicine if it works as fast as last time about 15 to 20 years ago will be working within the weekend. If not already. I'm thinking he may need another 250 mg. But that will be okay to see. I think Kortni went to the doctor this morning she probably has a ear infection or both. So we will see when she returns. They live right next door. My sister's with bi-polar, technically two of them have it. The one that was in the hospital will talk to us about it. But lately I believe she hasn't felt people want to know. Her husband also has Bi-polar and he also lost his license sometime in the past. But instead of telling anyone was driving. He is not driving now that my sister was in the vehicle when he got stopped. But its making this harder on her with her eye issues. So I'm hoping he has done the class he needs to. The policeman was really nice from what my sister said, And told him when he had done the class a judge would probably help the situation by letting him have his license back. Because of my sisters situation. My other sister that has all kinds of issues right now. Is finally feeling better too. But my other sister had let me know about the mental health issues. And I'm sure from the way she is talking in text she is going hypo to under in depression. So I'm hoping she went back to her doctor. My son Dan was the first one in our family to be diagnosed with any kind of issues. So its like I dealt with things for a while before anything else came along. Its been a rollercoaster for all family members. My mom has always been there to support us all. She is the one that I could turn to with Dan's issues. She always listened and tried to understand. She is part of the family members Nami. Were my sisters and one's husband are part of the Consumer's Group. And all three are speakers for groups. Thanks for asking Donna:grouphug::hug: |
Sorry that was long. Hopefully all made since.
I have been debating for a month or a little longer as to whether to ask for a AAC evaluation for Will. This would help with his speech issues hopefully. I know that the SLP at school is sometimes opposed to them. But he is so severe I can't figure out the conversation about 80% of the time. I had talked to the outside speech and to some other special ed. specialist from another school corp. I work with. They all agreed it was a good idea. So I sent in the request with my son signing it last week. Thinking I missed the 10 days they have to decide. So was expecting a answer after xmas. But I got a email last Friday that the SLP had sent the request to the co-op that does our special education. And then yesterday I had received a request for case conference. Which the date and time I can't attend. I had signed it with my son's name. And told them his mom would be doing the meeting. I'm just glad it went over well. I got a response today, she will look at the specialist schedule and get back with us. Also I spent the evening with Derrick yesterday. We got my mom's gift since it was to heavy for me. I was glad he was available. Then we went to supper. He is doing very well in this 8 weeks of school. After his melt down the one day. And his teacher in English after starting to follow his 504 plan. Has really been working with him. She even told him the day after his melt down that I thought was headed to a seizure. That he is doing well and needs more confidence in himself. And then he was surprised he has a average as of last week of a C+ which would have passed the class. But he, his coach and even the teacher think he should retake the class. And that puts the biology he was to take on hold. Which is fine, if he can get his grammar up closer to where it needs to be. He might be ready for the second ECA before summer. So we will see what happens. I'm so impressed and proud of were he is going with this. It was never a thought he would get to English 4 and maybe be ready for English 5 which is the last class. Except for some college ones. Donna :winky::) |
I'm so glad that things seem to be going in the right direction for Will's evaluation. My brother had a significant speech impediment when he was younger. He really benefited from therapy and has no issues today.
You are an excellent advocate for your family members. I will continue to wish you and all of them the best. :grouphug: |
I also talked to Kortni. She says he is much calmer, and that is what needed
to happen for sure. So its looking like the medicine is helping. We will see as time goes on. Donna :hug::grouphug: |
