Bobby

Pudge is also making sure you are okay. Also making sure you realize
you aren't forgotten. She realizes you need extra attention from her right
now.

Bobby, the HDL is good.

Maybe the cardio can sort this out.

A friend of mine was told not to eat Chinese food the day before the test because it throws off the numbers -- I am not sure which ones.

Red face

Is this the first time that your LDL has been so high? or is this something that has been going on for a while?
Did the doctor ever mention becoming a vegetarian?
A girl friend of mine became one and her numbers are wonderful now.

But dietary intake of cholesterol is not necessarily related to blood levels of
cholesterol.

Quote:
There’s a growing consensus among nutrition scientists that
cholesterol in food has little effect on the amount of cholesterol in the
bloodstream.
And that’s the cholesterol that matters.

i was on lipitor some years ago but i had side effects. my doctor thought it could be genetic. i don't eat that much meat. i do eat eggs but they are supposedly safe now. I occasionally have cheese. right now i am having a lot of japanese sweet potatoes that i think are making me constipated. He put me on a very low dose of pravastatin. I can't seem to lose weight. in protest i just ordered some ice cream and candy. i shouldn't have done it but it was a pure act of rebellion and self destruction.

I'm so glad you have Pudge right now. She sounds like great company

I hope Joyce gets back to you about another kitty soon.

i came back from the hospital. my cholesterol dropped to 177 from 204 without medication and my blood pressure went from 130 over 80 to 110 over 80. i wonder if it had anything to do with abby's death.
i had another ekg which was slightly abnormal and a leg testing which was okay. i go back for next week for an ekoc(sp) and an ultra sound everybody was so nice.

I honestly have no clue about the cholesterol. But it definitely could with
the blood pressure. I'm also guessing you might have eaten more comfort
foods with Abby issues. But not sure, but think that might have too.

I couldn't take lipitor, and when I told the np she switched me to something else. I took it religiously for probably 2 years. Till I was running out of
all my meds last year. When she did the cbc for me. It didn't show
high cholesterol. So now I'm not taking anything. I can't even remember
what I was taking.

i think cholesterol raises when you gain weight and for the past eight months when abby was ill i was binging and gained at least fifteen pounds. the drop in 25 points from friday when she was alive to three months before was amazing without weigh loss or medication
