Even if your husband has power of attorney, he can still rely on the doctors' opinions.

In my case there are decisions about very specific situations (based on personal beliefs and experience in acute care settings) that I am adamant about and my husband and sister are aware of and will respect, but doctors would not automatically decide the way I would want them to. So my paperwork is in order in case I'm physically or mentally incapacitated.

i am not sure. yesterday i was bipolar depressed. then i ate something and when i was eating it i wasn't depressed...a cucumber with salad dressing of all things.
yesterday i skipped the senior center and maria came in the afternoon. i was listening to too much tv on the caucuses. I am still debating over whether or not to ask for topamax. I have been so unstable. I am reading another book
thanks for asking
bobby on my way to the senior center today
I think abby's weight is really getting to me. I cuddle her a lot...pudge has gotten very friendly since her grooming. we hide under the covers together and i pet her

Yes, but you are making her last weeks as comfortable as possible and are showering her with love. Even though times like this are heartbreaking, to be able to provide so much is very fulfilling.

Dave.

thank you so much dave. I had another kitty cat named Tui. the last month of her life i hardly slept. she lay on my chest and we would look into each other's eyes. she died in my arms. I was amazed how well I took her death. This time is a little different because my sister died three months ago. I am a bit paranoid or whatever the term is. when i don't see her for a while in my studio, i fear she has died. I can't seem to stop myself. I guess i am so blessed that i have the time to love her rather than have her die suddenly.

Yes, multiple tragedies and losses of all kinds do stack up and affect our Mood and stability. It is natural to be overly concerned when your kitty disappears for a little while. I suppose you really have to let her wander wherever she feels comfortable while encouraging her to stay close.

We have lost so many beloved animal friends over the past 27 years of our family life, and it never gets any easier. We used to foster Rescued Cats for a few years and took in the frail and old to give them quality of life until the end. It was difficult, but rewarding.

Dave.
