Nikko

With the sneezing and stuff it sounds like the headaches might be sinus
instead of migraine. Try getting a otc medicine that is specifically for
sinus headaches, weird as it sounds. And take it just as your headache
or earache is just starting to nag at you. THen with your moist thing for
the ear lay down and see if the headache will go away if you try to sleep,
turn on some soothing music too.

Just give it a try, you could also just go ahead and take some for the try
as to see if its a sinus headache.

my thoughts have been with you and I hope you are feeling better....I am so glad you also mentioned that you use the umbrella when you go to the pool.
I was worried about that too.

Nikko,

I know that I can get headaches from being in the sun so maybe the pool aggravated your headache.

Crap, had another BAD PAIN afternoon, had to leave the pool yesterday after awhile, used everything I have, but no relief, sitting here STILL with the same pain.

Maybe my coffee will help. Can't wait till to see my PCP on Wed.

I don't know which is worse the eye pain or the ear pain. UGH

I guess today will be a in bed with my moist heat thing. I can't take this much more.

Thanks, and Hugs, Nikko

p.s. I wonder if I have to see a neurologist it could have something to do with a nerve in my ear or something.

Default 100 mg. Imitrex

Dear Nikko,

When I read your initial post, I thought, "What!?, Imitrex comes in 500 mg. tabs now! Time to change my RX." I take Imitirex and always get the 100 mg. tabs., the largest size, because they are identical is cost to the smaller sizes, (50mg. & 25 mg.), and can be split.

Researching Imitrex, they have, alas, not changed their largest tab, it is still 100 mg.. so I suppose you meant that your shrink ordered you 50 mg., (not 500 mg., as you stated), tabs.

I would ask him, in the future, to order the largest size, (100 mg.), were I you. The tabs are deliberately made in a difficult-to-split shape by the manufacturer, and the cards of Imitrex state, "Do not split tablets", but I always do and they always work. Perhaps they deteriorate quickly if split, but I believe that GlaxoSmithKline simply wants to sell more pills. A little care using one of those $5 drugstore tab splitters, (whose razor cutter must be kept sharp) could save you a lot of money and/or give you more doses than you would otherwise have available.

Hope this helps.

My son took both but not for BP. I don't know if the doctor will Rx both for BP I don't know what the standards are. I know meds that help are appreciated. I hope you feel better soon Nikko.
