I hope you feel better after you finish your work in the closet. Finishing a project like that would make me feel better. It would drive me crazy waiting for my husband to fix the shelf though, and he would probably never get to it.

There's a lot of anxiety in our home, but a very different dynamic. My husband can't handle his anxiety, so he drinks heavily and throws temper tantrums

Hoping cleaning helps. Maybe the dust has been on of your problems.
It would be one of mine.

I need to have my cleaning crew over. My son and his lady do my cleaning.

I wish I could hire a cleaning lady, jeff says we should be able to clean the house, well we don't so there are dust bunnies everywhere and kitty litter too from the cats. And my bathroom floor is dark again from hair spray and dirt....

Hubby says we don't need a cleaning lady.

He says, "I will clean." HA.

He does some things -- Both of us keep up with dishes and laundry.
He takes out the trash. He vacuums when I ask.

But for the bigger projects we need someone else.

We have small square footage but lots of little rooms -- like a rabbit warren.

1) I have a room to myself for my computer and printer and clothes and books.
2) I also have the living room with more books, tv, and room to do yoga.

He hangs out in his "den" off the kitchen.
He also has a room stacked to the ceilings with stuff.
He's a pack rat but I have been able to keep my rooms free of his "storage."


We both need alone time.

I think it's great that you realize that you both need your own space and alone time

I spoked to my brother around midnight for 1.5 hours.


I could barely make out what he was saying because he was talking so fast
I guess he has recovered from the hernia operation.

Yesterday or earlier in the day his tug boat and another tug
completed two weeks of moving huge barges with product from one port to another and back through a tiny water way that had not been properly navigated.

Apparently the owner of the company had a lot of money riding on this so
he was happy when the teams more than succeeded at the task.
Brother will get a raise and more responsibility.

Even with that, brother mostly wanted to talk about the guys he works with.
He imitated their accents/vocal patterns/ . .. explaining their elaborate pranks.
They have fun together and work together as a team
People fall in love with him because he is a good guy/trustworth/works hard.

Plus he put himself in the rolll of cook on the boat.
He takes pride in the fact that they love his cooking.
