Congratulations Kitty!!!
I love Olive Garden's salad. It's always so fresh and the dressing is wonderful. Good for you for resisting the breadsticks. I would find that to be a very difficult thing to do.
I'm sorry the noodles didn't work out for you. I have trouble with the consistency of a lot of things, too. Check out the Asian foods section of your supermarket. There are a lot of different noodles worth trying that are much better alternatives to traditional semolina pasta. I usually fly by the seat of my pants there, but he ladies here may have some suggestions.

Bizi, I hate the visible panty line thing. You can make that a temporary issue though. When you decide to hunker down, you easily drop 5 lbs and you usually do it quickly.

I weighed 160.8 lbs this morning. The BR issues will be ongoing I guess.

I cooked up a batch of turkey bacon yesterday. It's much better than the last kind, and much easier to cook because it doesn't get stuck to the pan.

Sometimes my husband will eat what I eat, but it's impossible to make that happen every night because he gets sick of salads, is not big on veggies and is picky about the ones he will eat. He'll eats carrots and peas, but they're considered starchy vegetables, and they're not allowed in phase 1. My husband will not cook for himself, and will not help me in the kitchen.

I made a big batch of marinara sauce last week and froze two portions. I made a meat sauce with it and put it over pasta for him, and I made a hamburger and heated up the leftover brussel sprouts for myself. Because I did some prep in advance, the two meals weren't a big deal.
Tonight we're both having filet mignon and salad. Because I'm eating a small amount of protein, I only bought one… saving some money there.

I've been skipping my pre-lunch snack because I've had to go back to sleep in the morning. I've been waking up starving. The snacks are an important part of the diet… Oh well, if I have to sleep I have to sleep.

Kay I hope you have a good weekend.
Your planning sounds like it is going well.
Did you make the marinara sauce? How did you do that?
I rarely cook these days... open up pouches of simmering sauce to stir fry chicken, and a steamed side of veggies makes up our dinners.
I weighed 158 this morning. Surprised it was not 160 the way that I have been indulging lately.
wondered if you can call the center/club and see what is on the menu for today ans see if you can make it work for your diet some days?
I think last time they cooked chicken....

Well done Kitty and everybody else - I reckon that you are all travelling well .

This might not work for everybody but for me breakfast is an important meal.

It is usually two slices of toast made from wholegrain bread and two free-range boiled eggs.

The toast gets covered with some combination of avocado, hummus and Vegemite (this is an Australian/NZ institution - it looks like axle grease but is a good source of B-group vitamins).

I figure that this sets me up well for the day; healthy carbohydrates, protein, good fats from the plants as well as vitamins and minerals from all of the above.

Kiwi,
Your breakfast sounds yummy and healthy, but alas, no bread for me
I've been eating mainly sliced tomatoes and either canadian or turkey bacon for breakfast.

Bizi,
I'm glad you didn't gain the extra 2 lbs that you were worried about.

My marinara sauce is very easy, and diet-friendly, but I haven't eaten any while on this diet yet. I've thought about mixing it with chicken broth (for protein) to make a soup though.
To make my sauce, I saute a finely diced medium yellow onion in a small amount of olive oil until it's translucent then stir in 3-4 cloves of minced garlic and a bit of crushed red pepper, and cook it for another minute or two. Then I add a big can of crushed tomatoes (only has crushed tomatoes and a bit of sea salt). I season the sauce with ground thyme, dried oregano, basil, onion powder, and pepper (there's already enough salt in the tomatoes). You can cook it for 10 minutes or forever. The longer the better. Sometimes I add peppers, diced tomatoes, lean ground beef, or all of the above.

The club always has salads where you pick your own ingredients, so the menu isn't the issue. As you know, I haven't been feeling well psych-wise. I practice avoidance when I'm off. Sometimes I'm aware I'm doing it, sometimes I'm not. I'm also irritable, and there are a lot of people there that deserve my patience.

My two weeks of phase 1 of this diet will be up on Tuesday. That is the recommended time period, but you can extend it as long as it doesn't exceed 2 months. I'm not going that long, I am going to extend it by at least another week. I've lost 7 lbs, but would like to lose at least 10 before I move into the next phase where I can eat more of a variety of foods, but can expect to lose only about a pound a week.

OMG I wanted pizza so bad yesterday!!! I drove my husband to the liquor store to get beer, and the smell from the Papa Gino's next door was killing me. Then, I swear, they were playing nothing but Domino's commercials on TV!
My husband asked if I wanted to order one, but I declined even though the craving was so strong… I haven't gone through a week and a half without any sugar to blow my diet on pizza.

I'm not big on diet sodas. I've been drinking coffee or water, but I bought a diet A&W Rootbeer yesterday and it tasted exactly like the real thing to me. My husband tried it and he couldn't tell the difference either. I really enjoyed it.

I'm still at 160 lbs, so I've lost a total of 7, which is pretty good, but I've plateaued.

I am so happy for you resisting the temptation of the pizza. Hubby and TV were really testing your will but you won!!!!!
I like root beer and cream soda.
I have chewing gum that I chew when I am snacky in the evenings or afternoons too. It is sweetened with xyletol which is good for our teeth, Bfriend told us about this a few years ago.
Spry has it as well as others.
congratulations again on the 7 pounds. That is great!!!!!!
You are doing so well.
