I have been reading the normal ways to get Hepatis C. But does anyone
know a way that sharing needles or things like that with blood would make it happen. They are considering this for Derrick's issues. And I can't figure out how he would have gotten it if it is. I do wonder if it could be all the blood draws he has done over the years. Donna ![]() ![]() |

Donna, I am sorry to read about Derrick. You are right in thinking that the most common way of getting a Hep C infection is via sharing needles with blood containing Hep C, either in a medical context (which should not happen) or for people who use injectable street drugs.
This site might give you and Derrick some helpful information Treatment for Hep C — Hepatitis Australia. It is Australia-based but I guess that the highly-effective treatments available for Hep C infection here will also be available in the US. ![]()

Injection into the blood stream via needle in some way (usually by sharing needles) is the most common way to get Hep C. Has ever gotten a blood transfusion? Because that is one of the biggies too… In a small amount of cases, even now, it's not screened out well enough.
I hope that he doesn't have it, but the good news is it can be cured in many cases now ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks folks.
Other than the symtoms all point to it. He has not done anything that would cause it. No to transfusions also. I think its even the lesser of the evils because it can be cured. The other thing they are still looking at is something to do with liver. Donna ![]() ![]() |

There are lots of curable and treatable liver conditions. I will say some good words for him, and hope that if he does have a liver condition, it's one of those
