Alzheimer's runs in Dad's maternal and paternal sides of the family.
And his sister five years younger than him has had it for a while.

To play devil's advocate, when I was living with my father and he was still drinking very heavily, I could see the early signs of dementia setting in. I couldn't tell if it was alcohol-related dementia or something else, or how bad it was, tho... impossible when someone is BP and that drunk all the time. But I could see the changes. Just my experience.

If you have spoken to your father on the phone and haven't noticed a difference, things can't be that bad- if there even is a problem...

I'm sure you wish you had a better relationship with your sister, but sometimes our sisters make that hard

Around here, taxi drivers can get you where you need to go if you give them an address, unless where you are going is off the beaten path.

Default feeling like skipping a day of work.

For days, I have been sleeping day and night and doing twitter because it
distracts me while at the same time giving me people to react with ---
-- unlike t.v. for example.

Also we had an extra work meeting around Thanksgiving that threw me off.

Anyway, I tried to keep track but I lost a day. A few hours ago, I realized
that Monday is a work day!!!!!

ACK!!!!

I just want to go to bed whenever I want later and sleep all day tomorrow.

The only way to face the idea of getting up in the morning to shower
and get out the door on time is to give myself the option of leaving work early to come home.

I kind of bribe myself with these kinds of promises to come home early and
then do not follow through if I do not need to.

Hubby would like me to shower more. F him. He's comes from a culture overseas where they shower a lot.
Also, he did not grow up understanding mental illness and has
only somewhat figured it out after being with me for decades now
and DESPITE his own diagnosable issues.

I'm sorry that you can't sleep all day today and have to go back to work
I'm glad that you have found a way to get yourself out the door in the morning tho... whatever works

I can relate to both of those issues...

I woke up too early.

And now that I have been up for an hour or so I want so much to go back to bed.

I guess I will see how I feel later -- allow myself to come up early if I have to

I am sorry you woke up too early, hate that!
I don't follow tweeter, really don't know how it even works.
Already spend a lot of time on the computer.
I know what you mean about interaction...much better than stagnant tv.
I hope your day is productive for you.
Jeff is counting down the days....

Hubby seems to have some aspergers traits.
Every so often I find an online test and we take the test together.
He comes out a little higher than 50%.
For example he's tied to routine.

He also certainly has ADHD which is a little weird because my sister's husband has it too.

Hubby can have a conversation with someone and then kind of let his mind
wander off. Then he brings himself back with coping techniques
that most times the other person does not notice.

I did tell Work Buddy about hubby that/doing that and he said
he had noticed/figured out that Hubby was not fully attentive/listening.

Sister's husband has a version of ADHD in which he makes messes
Hubby is organized and can tell you where every piece of paper/item/anything is.

Red face

hubby uses his I-phone so much that his attention is lacking.
I have politely asked the dinner table to be a no phone area.
Does your hubby know this about himself?
