I am sooo angry that Hubby has shown no interest in a Category 3 Hurricane
a few days away from the East Coast.


He grudgingly (like pulling teeth) cooperated when I asked that he help
me dig around in the boxes in his junk room for the
flashlights, batteries, radios, and similar.

I am sorry your hubby is not responsive to your needs.

The storm is a category 3 that is expected
to reach category 4 and we are under a Hurricane Watch--- 48 hours in advance
of the anticipated onset of tropical-storm-force winds.

Keeping good thoughts....glad hubby got with the program.

There are good reasons why this storm has been dominating the news for days...

There must be a lot of anxiety associated with a hurricane like this headed in your direction, but from the sound of it, I think that you are handling the situation very well, Mari

update : I have a full tank of gas. Hubby has a half tank.

We have enough water. Will fill extra plastic containers later.

We have extra batteries to re-charge phones

We have food and snacks for a week -- could stockpile more but do not want to bother

'Will back up some things to jump drive and put jump drive in the dishwasher -- safest place in the house for valuables because the dishwasher does not move.

Might make one more run to bank for cash and to pharmacy for meds ---
but can manage without doing the pick up at pharmacy.

Hubby and I offered room for one of hubby's buddies and his cat.
Buddy said no thanks. He thinks he knows more than the weather forecasters.

We are hearing that the aftermath will suck: no power for a long time, although the governor explained how he will get everything back up
and running as soon as possible.

We could have flooding although they are draining the lake and the canals now.

HUbby and his buddies went exercising -- walking somewhere -- my
guess is that they went out to lunch afterwards.

Wish the place were cleaner but am not up to deal with cleaning lady and
cannot figure out when I can FIT HER IN AROUND MY MOOD/S.
