Happy Birthday, Donna!!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes.

It still feels so odd not to be able to go and do things but I have been
stuck in my house thanks to my leg.

I am going to Muncie In. Today with my friend Shannon, Her son Chris
and Derrick. We are going to IN*SOURCE's Conference and I'm going
to the IN-SERVICE. They will spend more time in the hotel on Wednesday.

The hardest part is that I am not driving yet, so someone has to take
me into town and drop me and my car off. Then I am hoping Shannon
can bring me home, and either her son drive and get her. Or Dale
will take her back. I will of course pay for that gas, along with the
trip. Dale will not be happy probably needing to bring someone to
get car and me. So I'm really hoping she will agree.

Is it your leg or ankle or foot that is injured?

I hope that your travel plans worked out well Donna. I know hard it is when you can't drive

I hope the conference went well, and getting around wasn't too hard

Its either the ankle or Foot. I honestly don't know the difference so can't say
for sure. Its changing colors a lot. But that is normal.

I'm curious if anyone knows if swelling just manily when I have to wear
the boot all day or good part of it is normal. It swells some otherwise to.

But really gets bad then.


I had a great time yesterday. We ate good, and it was a good conference.
Todays activities weren't as much fun, but mainly because one of the
speakers speaks to long and slow. This really bothers me it might be
why I have so much trouble doing a workshop.

One other one spent to much time going through slides when she was
supposed to answer questions, so she rushed through them. But will
send us all the slides to relook at questions and answers.

Are you able to elevate the foot at certain times during the day?

The boot should be okay size wise. I don't go out much other than
my trip this week. And I knew some swelling would be worse.

But I do usually wear clothes between the boot and skin. For sure a sock
on the foot. But I have worn a dress a couple times and not anything
but a sock under the boot.

I also have no sock on usually when I'm resting on the couch. And that will
be most of the week now and the weekend. So we will see what happens.

Your ankle and foot will swell if you are on your feet or they are dangling regardless of whether or not you are wearing a brace. If it was the wrong size, it would be very painful.

I know that you are active, and have to be, but if you had the luxury of sitting on your bum and elevating your leg for hours, the swelling would go down substantially.

Are you taking anti-inflammatories for the swelling and pain and/or applying ice (if directed) when you are able to sit back and relax?

I hope that your healing starts to pick up sooner Donna

did the doctor say to ice it?
