I think that is a very good idea.

My PCP knows about my mental health problems and I've had to explain how I handle certain things in the past. I can tell that he's not exactly comfortable with the severity of my mental illness. I've told him I want him to ask me questions rather than make assumptions, and let him know that he's free to contact my pdoc at any time.
