Tell him to check into Aging program in Indy. She should qualify for help.

He can help her get started I would think. It help with lots of things,
Cleaning, cooking, and bath and other issues.

I know you are worried about your MIL
From the sounds of it, she is not ready for d/c, so I will cross my fingers that they don't let her go home today, and they start trying to make her more independent before they do.

I hope that they do their job, and make sure she is safe to go home before they discharge her. That is their responsibility.
I hope that at least they set her up with the VNA before discharge so they can get someone in there to evaluate her quickly so she can get all the services she needs... in a perfect world she would have a case manager to do that...

Maybe that is something that is offered in the program Donna is talking about. That is how it works in MA. It is a call worth making. Thank you Donna

My MiL returned home today. She is thrilled.
She is using a walker and is stronger. Hubby comes home tomorrow.
I told him about council on aging, he will tell his brother who lives there and can follow up.
She will have nursing, home health aides, therapies PT, OT, ST I think.
She was put on new meds and jeff bought her a pill box as she has to take things up to 4 times a day.
Jeff said she ate normally.
She is taking 10mg of prednisone which is a lot.
I wonder if that is for the MG exacerbation????

It sounds like you MIL is better, and she is getting the services she needs. I hope that she can stay healthy and home for a long time

Just got off the phone with Jeff.
His mother is short f breath still, that is why she went into the hospital!!!
He told her she came home too soon.
She did not say anything.
I am worried about her.
Home health starts soon. Jeff got a pill box and set it up for her.
Don't know if she will use it or not.
She may just go back to how things were before, lots of pill bottles in a basket.

Jeff is flying out of Indy today to baton rouge, he should be home by 7;30pm tonight.So I need to get busy and do my chores!

Friday: Woke up late and met Melissa for brunch at T-Coons. They serve breakfast till 2pm. So I had eggs and smoked sausage which was very lean. And A biscuit with sausage gravy. Oh it was good!
I saw one client on friday evening. Pat who lives out of town in an apartment above his restaurant called "Pats Fishermans Wharf" He is very eccentric, wears only whitey tighties and a white tee shirt. He is in a wheel chair and wears oxygen at night. He flirts with me all of the time. He is 88 years old and has had 5 wives. Is a millionaire and pays me $100 a month to care for his feet and finger nails. He is harmless.
He feeds me a seafood salad that has boiled shrimp, crab and crawfish with tomatoes and cucumbers and an egg.
It is always good. although one shrimp was a little undercooked. and mushy. yuck!
After I got home, my girlfriend and her husband went to hear a band play at the out door music night. In the spring and fall on friday nights they have bands called "Down town live" There were a lot of people there and That was fun.
Had to get uip early, 7am Saturday I worked out of town, new Iberia and saw 6 clients at one assisted living care facility called Garden View.
Very nice.
After that around 3;30pm I went to whole foods for some beer and came home to cook for my girlfriend Susan, who her husband is filing for divorce. Her dad was in town helping her move out of the house.
I had Susan and her dad over for dinner.
I cooked Ground beef and sweet potato swirls with a lentil simmering sauce and a can of black beans. I also served a salad that I got off the salad bar at whole foods. Put lots of different items including, roasted cold brussel sprouts and fennel. They liked it.
Her dad is frail looking/walking because of bothersome varicose veins.
She had hired movers to come move the big pieces of furniture. She told her soon to be ex that she would be out of the house by the end of this month. She has a lot of things in the attic and other things to go thru.
I feel for her.
Divorce is never easy even though this has been a long time in coming. They have both been unhappy for years.
I have a couple loads of laundry to do. Check book and bills to pay. I already cleaned up some cat throw up, fun.
Got caught up on the forums mostly.
Couple cups of coffee down, need to get dressed. Sounds like the storms went east...need to find out how other states are fairing.

Refilled work supplies
got a TB test needs to be read 48-72 hours
Target for a gift card and 11yo birthday card and delivered to her mail box.
T-coons for brunch...yum
Good Car wash inside and out...bugs galore from the trip
2-year auto inspection sticker
filled up with gas

Left to do:
check book reconciliation
Business bank deposit
shower

Jeff is due home between 7 and 7;30 if he doesn't run into any delays.
