Kay,

The apartment looks lovely: first floor, good size, appliances, central air,
carpeting,

I hope it works out for you.

Thank you, Mari :hug::hug::hug:

I would have to go up and down a lot less steps to get in and out of this apartment than the one I live in now. There are 7 steps just to get into the building.

The leasing agent there told me he should have the results of our background/credit checks yesterday and would be in touch, but I didn't hear a word from him. So, I'm SOOOOOOO WORRIED that something is wrong, and for some reason we will be rejected. Then, what if the townhouse is no longer available? WTF would I do then?

The leasing office doesn't open until 10am, so I have to wait 2hrs at a minimum to hear something today. It's been about 48hrs since I submitted the application online, so the background/credit checks should be done by now. I hope to hear something this morning...

I got a call from someone telling me that my eyeglasses are ready. I can't even remember what day that was. Honestly, I forgot all about them. I hope that I like them as much as I did the day I bought them. I'll go pick them up today.

I also plan on making meatballs this afternoon. It's a good distraction, and cooking things like that usually calms me down for a while.

I'm just a f'ing mess and am crossing my fingers and toes that we'll get the apartment.

I am sure nothing is wrong and they are just taking their good old time.. Can you call them again?

I looked online, and was able to check the status of our application for the apartment, and it said it was approved! :):):)

I don't know what our deposit would be ($500 vs. 1st month's rent). So, I tried to call the guy in the leasing office, but he is out of the office today. I spoke to another guy in the office, and he seems to think that it will only be $500 tho.

I feel much better about THAT.

But I called the vet's office crying to ask them where I should bring Dottie, and they told me to it was best bring her back where I adopted her from... the humane society. I don't know when I should do that, but I will need Corey's help. I don't know how it will effect the other kitties. Then we will be moving them. Lots of changes for us all. Poor Dottie. She's done nothing wrong :(:(:(

that is so great about the apartment. I feel so badly for you about dottie. I hurt and she isn't even my kitty.

Kay

They will take good care of her at the Human Society. They will
totally understand. Hopefully they might even have an foster
home for her right away.

WE will keep you in our prayers, that you can get through this.

Good news, Kay!

You worked this out in a relatively short amount of time.

I wish you well in your new home.

Thank you, ladies :grouphug:

I'm really relieved that we found an apartment that I think we will be happy living in for a long time- but there's that elephant in the room.
I'm much calmer this morning, and don't feel like I'm teetering on the brink of insanity at the moment, but I still have to plenty of hurdles ahead of me.

I got an email from the leasing guy, who I guess is actually the property manager, late yesterday afternoon. I guess he was tied up in meetings Tuesday. He sent me a bunch of info including our new address, and what we would need to bring when we sign the lease on the 22nd. We can move in that day, but won't be moving in until the next day, which is a Saturday.

We only have to pay a $500 deposit and pro-rated rent from the 22nd to the end of February when we sign the lease. That sure beats the S- out of paying 1st, last, and security!!! Our checking account breathed a BIG sigh of relief.

I felt really guilty, but I asked my brother-in-law if he would help us move again, and he's on board. He's going through some things, and said he welcomes the distraction. Corey said he would/could ask at least one of his friends to help, too.

In the meantime, I have SOOOOOOOOOO much to do!!!
To start off, I'm having Corey take me to the U-Haul store on Saturday to buy some boxes, and I'll start packing up the closet on Monday. I don't know where to go from there yet. There's so much s- that's still in use.

Some time next week, Corey will take me to the Humane Society to give Dottie away :(:(:(
She needs a big litter box, so I'm thinking of buying one and bringing it with me. I'm also thinking of bringing a bag of the food she's been eating, so she doesn't get sick if they give her something new right away. I will also be making a donation.
I'm just worried because she scratches the furniture (all of my cats do), and whoever adopts her will have to put soft paws on her. I hope someone will fall in love with her, and will not mind doing that. She's really a little doll.

Okay, I can't talk about that anymore :(:(:(:(:(

that sounds so very great
