I find that most corned beef is too salty,
maybe they are all that way as the norm? We did not celebrate st patricks day though I did wear some green. hugs to you today. (((((HUGS))))) love bizi |
There is a lot of salt in corned beef because of the brine, but it should not taste too salty if it is good quality, and is cooked properly. There probably isn't as high of an Irish American concentration in your area like there is in mine, and that's probably why that's harder to come by. I wish I could make the good stuff for you. You would love it :)
I love, love, love my new car!!! It's so comfortable, and drives like a dream! I have to be careful tho because it wants to go FAST! It really hauls a- on the highway! :D I drove to the car dealership to drop off the title, but I forgot to have Corey sign the back of it. But when I bought the (old) car, I did it without him because I have his financial power of attorney. So, the dealer had me sign both of our names, and asked me to email him a copy of the power of attorney when I got home. The duo I worked with during the sale were there, and I asked them if I needed anything else to register my car or bring it to my insurance agent, and they said no. So, I went directly to my insurance agent's office... I did NOT have all the paperwork I needed, and we couldn't get in touch with anyone to help us. The insurance agent said that on the bill of sale, it looked like we were being charged by the dealership for THEM to register the car, but she couldn't be sure, and nobody ever told me that. She said that they could do that if they were licensed in MA. She said she would let me know if she heard anything back from them, and I went home. I scanned and emailed a copy of the power of attorney to the dealer as soon as I got home, but I never heard anything back from anyone, so I have no idea what's going on. I'm going to be f'ing PO'ed if I have to drive back up there again to collect paperwork or something. I don't know what will happen if they decide they want Corey to come and sign it in person because I never know when he will get out of work. Is anything easy? Seriously?! I'm sick of running around like a chicken with my head cut off all the time. I need a f'ing break!!! I woke up this morning with an anxiety attack thinking that I did my math wrong, and f'ed us over by deciding we could afford a new car. I was afraid we'd be living in a cardboard box!!! I whipped out my calculator before I even got out of bed, and of course that just made matters worse because of the anxiety. Fortunately, I never threw out the paper I used to calculate our finances before deciding to make the purchase. I didn't forget about anything, and my math was correct, so I felt much better :) We will still have to be careful tho... mostly me. Friday I whacked my thumb hard somewhere while I was trying to put groceries in the trunk, and I have a huge chip in my nail polish, which is called dip. It has to be soaked off with acetone for about 20 minutes, and it takes a while to have it redone. I've been running around, so haven't had time to have it fixed, but I'm going to see Judy today. It's been bothering me, so I'll be happy when it looks pretty again. I have to call or go to the leasing office to let them know I got a new car. I will check up on the issues with the apartment while I am there or on the phone with them. |
happy for you about your new car!!!!!
Not happy with the hassels , you do need a F' king break! bizi |
Great to hear, Kay, that you like your car.
I hope that you get the paperwork completed without too much hassle. :) |
I woke up confused again as to where I was, thinking I had to get up to pack up the apartment because we're moving today. I know it's all the stress. It's just been one thing after another. Hopefully after I get everything with the car squared away I can take a deep breath and relax for a while.
I told Corey about how I woke up yesterday freaking out about money, and how I had to go back and look over our expenses. He said he would never have bought the car if he didn't think we could afford it, and told me not to worry about it anymore. That was very reassuring. After MANY unreturned phone calls, and MANY calls transferred to his full voicemail box, I finally got the SOB from the car dealership on the phone late yesterday afternoon. The title for the old car is squared away, and the paperwork for the new car is "ready". He said he could have someone run to the registry for me for $100, which is almost worth it, but instead, we landed on him having someone deliver the paperwork to me, "first thing (this) morning." LOL The way they do business, I'll be lucky if it's here by midnight- if at all. I should have just said I would pick it up myself. After whoever comes with the paperwork, I will jump in the shower and head over to my insurance agent. Hopefully, they can register the car for me so I don't have to go to the DMV. I think they can. Then I will have to deal with insurance once the company adjusts the policy. I don't know how long that will take, or how much it will hurt. I finished our taxes yesterday and e-filed them. Both the federal and state returns were "accepted." We're not getting a lot back, but what we will get will be by direct deposit. At least I don't have to worry about that s- anymore. I was ready to go out to smoke a cigarette a little while ago, but I noticed a guy hanging out smoking one of his own on the corner of my patio. He was looking down when I saw him, but from where he was standing, he had a good view in. He moved closer to the corner of the building until he finished his butt and left. I waited about 20 minutes before going outside. I always bring my cellphone with me. There are walking paths that go around the property, but it didn't look like this guy was out walking. He creeped me out. |
I amsorry he freaked you out! on your patio????Had you seen him before? Could he be your neighbor? Is your patio close to a neighbors patio?
(((((HUGS)))) good luck getting your license plate! bizi |
Hoping things go good with the dealership and insurance.

I would call the management. that sounds really scary
|
There was no reason for that guy to be standing where he was. He was standing on the right side of our patio, and the neighbors on that side are far away from us. I think he was either trying to see in or be seen. I told Corey, and he was NOT happy. I usually keep the blinds on side of the slider where the door is totally open during the day, but I won't be doing that anymore.
By 12:30pm, nobody from the dealership had come over with the paperwork or called me, so I started making calls, and kept being transferred to voicemail boxes. I finally tired of that S- around 2:30, and when I got the receptionist on the phone, I gave him an earful, and refused to be transferred. He went to speak to his manager, and 45 minutes later, I had my paperwork in my hands... But by then, it was too late for me to drive to my insurance agent, or anywhere else. I needed a nap BADLY. Corey was home by then, and he said I was falling asleep and slurring my words. I set my first alarm for 5:30pm so I could get up and make dinner, but I just couldn't get up. Corey let me sleep. I got up once at 3am to pee. Fortunately, I remembered to take my pills. Then I fell right back to sleep and didn't get up until 6:30 am. So, basically, I slept from about 3:30pm to 6:30am :eek::eek: I guess I really needed sleep! I have an appointment with my neurologist at 11:30 this morning. I think I had a relapse in the middle of the whole moving mess, but I'm not sure. He'll examine me, and maybe he can sort it out. I will tell him about the mania, all the naughty things I did, and how much pain I'm still in, etc. So, the dealership gave me no instructions on how to sign the title (or do anything else  ), and was pretty damn sure we signed wrong, so I crossed our signatures out... and I'm pretty sure I voided the title. I will call my insurance agent to ask tho. The dealership will probably have to apply for a new one. I don't know what will happen, how long it will take, or how much it will cost us. Talk about making a bad situation worse... I REALLY F'ED UP!!! I'm not going to call, I'm just going to go there after my appointment :(:(:( I'm really freaking out!!! |
Kay
You are going to work this out. And just remember the title issues aren't your fault they are the dealerships. They should have made sure the directions were with the title and everything. They sold you the car and they messed up. They should be the ones that pay anything that needs to be paid if there is a fee to fix this. I'd let Corey deal with them on Saturday if there is a problem. He can get mad at them instead of others, like you. Now if the guy is out on the balcony again, call the police. Hopefully someone can be close enough to get there when he is still there. I don't trust your management to get there soon enough. Donna :grouphug: |
