I have been taking 5mg of this for the past 4 months to help stabilize my mood and get better sleep.
At this low dose I don't think that I am gaining weight which this medication is notorious for.
Ask me specifically about this medication.

These are the meds I take:



BP 1
Geodon 80mg twice a day
Lamictal 200mg twice a day
klonipin .5 mg at night
3mg of prolonged release melatonin at night
5mg zyprexa at night
magnesium 1000mg, probiotic, turmeric twice a day,
vit d3 5,000units, calcium 500mg twice a day,
vit c 1000mg, fish oils 1000mg ,co-q10 100mg,
multi-vitamin and mineral,
14 pills at noon
18 pills at night

I just saw your note on my thread. I missed it and went to the last page, sorry.
I am not losing weight because I am drinking and eating foods that I should not eat.
When I was truly dieting I was losing weight.

It is possible to lose weight while being on a low dose of zyprexa!

Hi bizi, thanks so much for taking the time to type out your meds list, i currently take 1350mg of lithium which has brought me out of the mixed state that I spent 4 months in, like yourself I also had some problems drinking too much but since starting the lithium this hasn't been a problem but what has been a problem is anxiety usually during is social situation so I'm thinking of asking something for it which unfortunately I won't get benzos it will have to be zyprexa or seroquel.

I have been on zyprexa 20mg before but unfortunately I did put on about 15kg but that was drinking alcohol and bad eating habits.

I'm a bit hesitant to start it now that I've managed to lose most of the excess weight by not eating in the last manic episode I had, but if you believe it's possible to maintain a healthy weight on zyprexa I'll give it ago my psych appointment is next week so I'd say I'll be starting this drug.

What time do you take the zyprexa?
If it makes you hungry what do you usually kill the hunger pains with?

Remember I said at a low dose 5mg it has not caused me to gain weight but I also take 80mg of geodon which is weight neutral, antipsychotic. so I take 2.
seroquel did not let me sleep. I also take melatonin. I am finally getting enough sleep and too much some times.

Yeah I remember I definitely won't go over 5mg, oh righto your on two AP drugs currently I only take the lithium which is weight neutral and no real side effects to talk of except I do go to the toilet alot if I drink to much fluids.

I do have 5mg of zyprexa here handy I wonder if I start taking I would have a positive effect on my anxiety I do have a party coming up in about 10 days time but that might not be long enough for it to have much of an effect..

Zyprexa is a night med for you?

I really don't want to tell you to take your meds only a doctor can do that. So why not call and talk to their nurse and ask about your concerns.
You really do need to drink a lot of water with the lithium.

I've been taking 5mg of zyprexa now for 3 days now I've been tolerating it well, there's no akesthesia to speak of which was a problem in the past with latuda, also seroquel doses over 100mg.

I've been taking the zyprexa a few hours before bed it does give me a case of the munches it's pretty hard to resist so I've been trying to kill the munches with healthy stuff but it is hard! I've been exercising daily for past 3 days I've walked over 10km.

I haven't told my psychiatrist but I'm sure she will be cool with starting the medication

Zypreza may be where your pdoc would have gone with your meds, but I would let her know you started it sooner rather than later...

I understand, I'll be sure to tell my psychiatrist tomorrow when I see her, last visit she did say that she thought the best thing for my anxiety would be to get out and experience things although this has helped I'm just getting impatient, I do have some things coming up that I know I might get anxious with.

I have a long-term relationship (lol) with my pdoc, and sometimes if I know I need my meds tweaked on a weekend, etc. I will increase/decrease a med because I know from experience what she would do, but I let her know what I have done as soon as possible...
So I do understand where you are coming from, Barney.
