Oh this one if great, just the one finger isnt working right.

Its much better than the last one I had. So I'm fine with it.

So we will see what happens.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 03-28-2019 07:52 AM

I'm glad you have a good one :)

Dmom3005 03-28-2019 01:06 PM

I'm having more problems with the blood pressure machine
than the other right now. But its been okay so far.

But I can't seem to get my feet on the floor and the
thing to work right. So I think the problem is that I'm
tall and my legs are long so its part of my whole problem.

So I'm working to figure it all out.

But since you take the blood pressure in bed at the hospital
if I cant after say 2 or 3 times get a good one. I sit on the
couch or somewhere with legs up and take it.

And its fine usually.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 03-29-2019 09:51 AM

Sitting position is the best, but do whatever works for you and is most comfortable, Donna.

The only position that would REALLY effect a reading is if you were laying flat on your back.

Also standing...

Dmom3005 03-29-2019 09:54 AM

Interesting. Thanks Kay.

Curious so how can they take it in the hospital with you laying
down then if it effects with you laying on your back.

Just curious.

Donna

OhKay 03-29-2019 10:24 AM

From my experiences working in hospitals:

We would take it whenever we could get it because people are sick, and we didn't want to disturb them too much. We were just concerned with whether or not the readings were within or close to normal range. If we got an abnormal reading, then we would ask the patient to move, or will pull them up and elevate the head of the bed. Sometimes we would have to take BPs on patients' thighs or calfs!!! Those were always off, but I guess the nurse and doctors knew what to expect from readings in those areas.

Also, if we got a reading that was off the charts, or too low, we would take the BP on the other arm. Sometimes if BPs on arms are very different, it's a bad sign, and something that needed to be reported ASAP.

Dmom3005 03-29-2019 02:51 PM

Thanks Kay

Just really was curious.

By the way I think I forgot to tell you guys Dan saw his Psychiatrist
last week. He explained he can't always get all the meds in without
getting sick. So she is going to work on switching him to
the ones that he can go get them as a shot.

I am so impressed with the way he is getting his thoughts out
and telling his psychiatrist especially how it feels and that it makes
him sick. Or that even when he gets it in to his body that he
goes to sleep and sleeps through the other half of the time.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 03-30-2019 08:06 AM

I'm so happy that Dan has been doing so well, and can express himself so well to his pdoc. Whatever meds he is taking are obviously helping. I'm glad that he will be able to take 1 (or more?) in a shot, so hopefully he doesn't have to stop taking any of his meds because they seem to be working so well :hug:

From what you've been reporting, it sounds like everyone is doing well :)

bizi 03-30-2019 08:35 AM

Good report donna about Dan!
Have a good weekend!
bizi:hug:

Dmom3005 03-30-2019 08:27 PM

If anyone sees Mother Nature, would you please tell her
Indiana would like to see spring not snow and sleet.

I think we are all tired of it.

Ugh, I'm ready for good weather.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 03-30-2019 10:27 PM

I am sorry for your wacky weather...I know that you want spring to be here..
my family is getting it too.
bizi

OhKay 03-31-2019 08:28 AM

I'm so sorry that you are still dealing with Wintery weather! :hug::hug::hug:

Spring is coming here. I hope it is coming your way SOON, too :hug::hug::hug:

Dmom3005 03-31-2019 02:04 PM

Well its suffice to say I'll live. I will probably be wishing for
cooler weather this summer when it gets really hot. That
is the norm. But I really like it in between. So we will see.

Its just life for me. All my schools were off last week so
I pretty much stayed home and in the house. It was just
to cool to go any where so it was kind of fun. I am meeting
a parent tomorrow. And then Derrick and I, and my friend
Shannon and her niece Grace go to Indy to the Patin's fair
on Thursday and I go to the Inservice for IN*SOURCE my
company on Friday. Wow, it will seem odd to be with all
my workers for once on my birthday.

But will probably be fun.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-01-2019 08:58 AM

I am the same as you, Donna. I dread both the winter and the summer because I have problems with both :hug:

I hope you guys enjoy the fair on Thursday, and I hope that your coworkers greet you with a cake on your birthday Friday! :)

Dmom3005 04-01-2019 03:40 PM

Kay

I'm guessing I'll get a birthday card, after they try to hide sending it
around. With is fine. Heehee, I am heading out in a while to
find socks and underwear I guess we just got challenged in our
teams to bring them for foster children. I really wish they had
decided this back a little further. I love to shop for bargains and
would have really done some bargain shopping but there wont
be a lot of time doing this.

I'm going to function on boys because its usually little and bigger
girls taht are given.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-02-2019 09:07 AM

That's really nice :)

bizi 04-02-2019 10:55 PM

Donna, you are so thoughtful!
bizi

Dmom3005 04-11-2019 09:38 AM

I've been kind of busy. But suffice to say that is fine.

I like being busy keeps me from wishing I had something to
do. Heehee

Derrick and Grace had lots of interesting workshops to go to
last Thursday and got lots of great information. I spent most
of my time at our booth. I had a headache most of the day.
And just didn't feel well. So it wasn't a day to go to activity
things.

But I had fun too. Shannon had a couple of good information workshops
too. And we all had fun on Friday.

Derrick spent the weekend with us. And Dale took him home on Sunday
Donna:hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-12-2019 08:26 AM

Sometimes busy is good!

I'm glad that Derrick and Grace got a lot out of the workshops, and you had fun despite not feeling well :hug:

What do you have lined up for this weekend?

Dmom3005 04-12-2019 10:42 AM

Autism Walk tomorrow. I'm hoping my leg that is killing
me starts feeling better today and tomorrow.

Its in the area that I broke in three places so its the what ever
you call it stuff. But I can't seem to get it to stop.

Oh well just life.

Donna :grouphug:

bizi 04-12-2019 11:06 AM

So you have that blue emu to rub on it?
bizi
sorry it is hurting you so much.
(((((HUGS)))))
bizi

Dmom3005 04-12-2019 02:57 PM

No I don't have blue emu. I haven't bought any yet. I don't know
anything about it yet. But I bought some biofreeze at dollar general
just a little while ago to see if it helps.

It seems to some but we will see. Ibuprofen and aleve are also helping.

donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 04-12-2019 08:59 PM

I think you can get the original blue emu at walmart.
I got mine off of amazon and shipped it directly to my mom.
hope the biofreeze helps.
bizi

OhKay 04-13-2019 10:49 AM

I hope that the Autism Walk goes well today, and that it raised a lot of money!

Donna, I hope that your leg feels better :hug::hug::hug:
I'm glad that the Ibuprofen and Aleve are helping you :hug::hug::hug:

If you are getting some benefit from the BioFreeze, you would probably get some good results from the Blue Emu because they are both topicals. The Blue Emu is just better.

mymorgy 04-13-2019 12:15 PM

I agree. blue emu is a lot better

Dmom3005 04-14-2019 11:48 AM

Derrick and I had a great time at the autism walk. I love doing these
things. I got to see and talk to a few of my parents. And met many
more. We got to take a picture or two also.

I bought some easter things, and also a brace for my ankle. I think
its more that the leg and ankle is tight than hurt. Its more the place
or area that there was surgery done. Its the fact it needs to get a
good massage done on it. I am working on getting it to losen up.

Its the what they call after surgery scar (ugh I still can't think of the name).
So I'm not sure anything is going to help it. The biofreeze really isn't working.
The ankle brace is more than anything now that i am walking with it on.

So I will watch that and buy the blue emu if it still needs more.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 04-14-2019 12:45 PM

donna, the blue emu is not expensive. I paid less that $30 for 12 ounces.jar.
I got mine from amazon.
bizi

OhKay 04-15-2019 07:07 AM

I'm so glad that you and Derrick had a good time at the Autism Walk!!!

I'm sorry your leg and ankle are really bothering you. You may want to try stretching out your whole leg and doing range of motion exercises with your ankle if you can tolerate it. I hope the brace helps you, and it feels better soon :hug::hug::hug:

The Blue Emu is about $27 for a 12oz jar (which is HUGE) and about $13 for a 4oz jar on Amazon. They sell it at pharmacies and stores like Walmart if you want to pick it up there... more convenient, just a bit more expensive.

Dmom3005 04-15-2019 11:47 AM

Its been a lot better since Saturday. Just taking it one day at a time.

I had a meeting for a parent today and it went great. Tomorrow
night is the Town Hall and then I can relax more. I'm stressed and
ready for it to be over. I have enjoyed doing this, but we were getting
worried the girl that is local working with me was not doing her things.
And I was stressing over this. But she answered emails this morning
so much better feeling.

So we will see what happens tomorrow night.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 04-15-2019 12:24 PM

donna, are you speaking at the town hall meeting?
bizi

Dmom3005 04-16-2019 09:00 AM

I'm guessing I'm probably introducing Derrick. I'm not planning
to speak otherwise. I am just mainly a behind the scenes.
And Registration person. I do not speak well.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-17-2019 06:44 AM

I don't speak well either... fear of speaking in public :o

Dmom3005 04-17-2019 11:06 AM

Derrick did a great job. I did okay just welcoming everyone.

We really had a scare with everyone showing up late.
I don't know what it is about people but they were between 15 to
30 minutes late I'd say. Ugh.

Oh well we had a good turnout for my area when they got there.

Also Derrick's group for the job program was there. The director
for his job coach was there. And the girl that I really like that just
moved to another job had came too. I didn't now either were coming till
a few minutes before. It was nice.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-18-2019 07:37 AM

I'm happy that everything turned out so well! :)
