Unhappy

My pdoc offered me inpatient rehab and others have suggested this....which I resented because I am not that bad of an alcoholic.
I have a respectable business and don't miss work except when I can't sleep and miss a couple of clients that I have to make up.

Alcohol interferes with my ability to be healthy.
There are too many empty calories.
I know how to lose weight....I just can't seem to do what it takes.
Would like to think that I could go to the gym and walk on the tred mill, last time I was there I could hardly walk at all.
The truth of the matter is that I am obese and out of shape.
What is it going to take for me to wake up and face the facts.

I was alcohol free for lent. That was for 6 weeks but I did it. I am sure that I lost weight during that time. Being this overweight is unhealthy.
Drinking alcohol is unhealthy, being sedentary is unhealthy.
I am embarrassed by my weight and what I have become.
My poor body....4 years ago I was 137, last week I weighed 195.
My scrubs are so tight. I look terrible and so unprofessional.

sigh
I am not even trying to healthy...why am I not trying?????
sigh

Bizi I do not want to discourage you. Each person is different. I have a lot going on neuro wise you don't so my sleep was messed up. The point being, alcohol made it so much worse and the elimination of it helped gradually over approximately 6 months. By month one sleep came easier.

I really think you can do this. You are so determined and focused. Let this happen.

Bizi

I hope you start sleeping soon. I've been having problems
sleeping part of the time too. Its been thanks to drinking to
much diet coke with caffeine, so I've cut down on it.

But then I start to over think when going to sleep. So I have
started trying to stop that too. Heehee, just a wicked process.

And I'm rambling.

With a ton of meds:
80mg Geodon
100mg lamictal
20mg melatonin
(long acting and short acting)
100mg atarax/visteril
200mg seroquel
600mg of lithium

I could not sleep and had restless leg syndrom majorly so finally got up and out ear plugs in, hubby has been snoring and got up to take 3mg of klonipin. I needed to sleep. Which I did finally and slept turned off the alarm and went back to sleep until hubby came to check on me at almost 10.
I wonder which med gave me the restless leg crap????
The seroquel gave me an elevated heart rate...don't know how fast but it was noticeable.
Called clients to rearrange schedule.
I am afraid that was going to have to be admitted to a pysch ward in order to get me stabilized...Want to avoid that at all costs....

what a nightmare! I feel for you. It looks as if you are taking too much medicine. Have you looked up any of the side effects to see if you can find what is causing the restless legs? Can you tell you doctor that you need to take the klonopin?

Summary:
Restless leg syndrome is found among people who take Melatonin, especially for people who are female, 60+ old , have been taking the drug for < 1 month, also take medication Vitamin D3, and have Narcolepsy. This study is created by eHealthMe based on reports of 19,565 people who have side effects when taking Melatonin from Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and is updated regularly.

Some drugs and medications have been associated with restless leg syndrome including: caffeine, alcohol, H2-histamine blockers (such as ranitidine [Zantac] and cimetidine [Tagamet]), and certain antidepressants (such as amitriptyline [Elavil, Endep]).

Bizi....
Please dont be so hard with yourself.... Can I say what I think about you ? the way I see you ? You seem to me like such a strong woman... with the power to do whatever you want, whatever you feel is right for you.... You know you can loose weight, you know you can stop drinking whenever you want...

You are full of compassion and empathy, use them with yourself as well ! You do not seem obese in any of the few pics I have seen.... and calling yourself names just because you are 200 lbs doesnt feel right to me... Dont try to obsess about "healthy life style", that is hard and harsh, like any other excess....

Excersise whenever you can, drink water to help you, but dont be so hard please.... I have been overweight all my life (except when I was anorexic), see, both edges are extreme and bad for my physical and mental health.... sometimes the obsession with something is worse than the thing itself.... I have a friend that was suffering so much trying to quit smoking.... he was so maniac about it that we were lossing him more than if he keeps smoking.... I know smoking is not healthy, but obsessing with quitting is not either....

Please hang in there, you are so worth it whatever your weight is... we love you so much

@mymorgy

Thank you for this info....interesting about the restless leg syndrome with melatonin.
I got mine when I took the seroquel last night.
It was horrible.
I only had one beer tonight right after I got home from work.
We went to see lyle lovett and his large band.
It was a great concert...need to get ready for bed tonight.
