I don't feel to well again. am making peppermint tea. I just cancelled my dentist's appointment for Wednesday. I only had soup for lunch and I am afraid to have anything for dinner. That laxative supposedly works in 24 to 48 hours.
I think the prunes made me go. I am no longer taking magnesium.

Bobby

Sounds like you are doing well, keep working on the laxitive.

Also I'm not positive but I believe you had said, you thought your
antidepressant had stopped working and needed to be upped.

So you were going to ask the pdoc to up it. I am not good
at looking back. But that might be why he upped it.

I would give it some time if it doesn't work then go back.

I don't really remember talking to him about it. I was working at the lower dosage I am now making fennel tea. Maybe that will work.
I just had peppermint tea.
"However, the side effect of high fiber is bloating and gas so eating too many prunes may cause some intestinal discomfort, especially if you are not used to a diet high in fiber."
I just threw out the rest of the prunes.
the laxative I am taking now side effects are
Side Effects
Gas, bloating, burping, stomach rumbling/pain, nausea, and cramps may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Hi Bobby ~ It seems we have had our share of kitty health issues. I feel your pain. My cat of 13 passed away 5 years ago and had Hypercalcemia from his Hyperparathroid gland.

Sam, my 12 month old Ragdoll came to me with significant neurological issues. He has Feline Hyperthesia (touching him sets off an attack so he is on Gabapentin to calm down the nerves), he also has Nystagmous/Seizures and now a bladder condition. He does not have bladder stones or crystals but he cries when passing urine. First he was put on Prazosin for the spasms but the side effect was that it relaxed his bladder too much and he was dripping urine everywhere, so had to stop that. He's now getting Cosequin in the hopes it will help with inflammation. The Gabapentin is causing constipation (he's on a strictly wet food diet now), so he has two water fountains and lots of water bowls to encourage him to drink water for the constipation and some Laxatone and Pumpkin.

Due to his Hyperthesia, he does not like to be touched or he nips. The county came in and shut down the breeder claiming she was fronting for a cat mill, so that is probably where Sam came from. When he first came home, he could not walk across the room to me, he had to walk along the walls to get anywhere. He still has some very peculiar behaviors, we think that came from living in a tiny cage, unhealthy conditions and abuse.

He's been very difficult to bond with. He won't sleep on my bed at night, only directly under my bed on the side I sleep on. He won't cuddle or sit in my lap. I encourage him with all kinds of enrichment activities and when he is doing that, he has happy eyes. We are still discovering all his health issues. He had to have alot of teeth pulled at the age of 4 months due to severe gingivitis. I have had a pet behaviorist helping me with his odd behaviors, but he's a year now and we can only hope he will settle down someday.

I am so very sorry. I bet he will become your favorite because he has so needy and has so many problems. That is so much stress on you! How do you deal with it

Hi Bobby ~ It seems all the special needs pets come to me. My vet always says to me "Only this could happen to you". Working part time with my veterinarian for two years really helped me understand animal husbandry and what to do.

It can be very stressful and at times, I have to step outside my apartment for a break. He's not easily bondable since he doesn't want to be touched most days, but I have hung in here last 9 months with him and I am determined to see this thru with him.

I had to open up a GoFundMe account once to help get him emergency care, that whole thing was interesting.

It's not his fault the way he is and he's still a kitten at heart, so doing the best I can. He may not live a long life, but I am trying to give him the best quality of life I can.

Thank you for understanding Bobby ((( appreciation hugs )))

Bobby,

It's difficult having to monitor this stuff.

I hope that the G.I. issues settle down.

thanks. I just looked up my blood pressure medication and my symptoms were not included. This morning my stomach started to ache at two a.m. I took a rolaid and that helped a little with the gas. I made a cup of coffee which usually helps but this time it didn't. It looks like the new laxative is working. I will give it another day to see that it is working and then make another appointment with the g.i. doctor. My stomach sort of feels acidic but antacids have no effect. I just ordered something for lactose intolerance but I don't think that is the problem. I have no idea how long this has been going on.
