I have been on it for almost four months. I see my doctor in a couple of months. I think it also raised my blood pressure to dangerous levels and my g.p put me on more bp medicine and then had to raise it. My blood pressure is still high. I am afraid to ask for a higher dose of the antidepressant because of my blood pressure.

Can you call your prescribing doc who put you on this medication that is raising your bp? Just to let him/her know and that it's not helping you with your depression? You could do this before you meet with him, just a quick phone call.

How high is your bp now, do you have a bp cuff at home to test it?

this is the first day it hasn't kicked in. I would have to see him and that would cost 125 plus 20 dollars cab fare. He didn't warn me about the side effects of bp. When I woke. it was 165. I use the arm one and it coincided with my g.p.'s monitor. Later it was 155. Before the extra bp medicine it went up at times to over 180.
I had a stroke three years ago and it affected my right side, short term memory ,spelling and math skills

Oh Gosh Bobby ((( hugs ))) sorry to hear all this. Thank you for sharing this with me.

I totally get the cost of transportation and co-pay issues as I have that as well. Where I didn't want to do this, my psych doc is not charging me a co-pay at the time of visit but will eventually work out a small payment plan for me. Also, and he doesn't charge for this, I get a video chat over my iphone or internet and that is not charged to me at all.

It's up to us to be our own advocate and read all the potential side effects, sadly, it seems the prescribing docs don't have the time to do this for us. Since you already had a stroke, I am worried. Do you take a baby aspirin daily?

i take a blood thinner for life. My doctor went off of medicare and I had horrific experiences with two doctors I tried. My doctor is giving his former medicare patients a break. I think he said he usually charges 275. You are so lucky. I get klonopin every month and he charges 50 dollars just to write a prescription. I also have trouble about spending too much money. I get out of control. I have so many books and I just bought another tunic today. I have been buying toys and bones for my friend's dog who he just got recently besides giving him hamburg. His wonder dog Mickey died recently so he just adopted Danny who is an aggressive chewer. I always gave Mickey hamburg. Robert has been so good to me. I am totally terrified about my electric bill since I have been running the new ac so much. I also had two operations because of the stroke
