At work we got tons of rain and I was soaked walking between buildings.
We couldn't go home until after we met with the three ladies on hubby's writing team. I had agreed to work with them for part of the afternoon. I was so very wet -- from my hair to my shoes and socks. After a little while inside in the air conditioning, I like I was freezing. Hubby drove home on the crappy road because the situation regarding the lane changes on the road under construction coming home is not as bad as going into work. I am going to get dressed and go out in the car by myself to try the route again this morning. M M |
good luck mari.

I am sorry you had a full day in wet clothes. That is so uncomfortable and cold. I have one outfit in my car for this reason. My job required we walk between buildings rain or shine. Plus I always keep an extra pair of undies in my backpack.
How was the ride in? I hope you felt comfortable going solo and mastered the tricky turn. They put "round abouts" every where with new roads and I am not a fan. Good idea to do a practice run. Take care |
road issues
I have not decided out how to get to work.
Friday I drove on the alternate route to work with Hubby in the passenger seat. I had no idea what was going on. Whether it's due to the depression or the meds, my brain does not work right. M |
Sorry for the road construction...will it be going on for a while?

Yes.
They've made progress but the road will take a while. (months?) M |
Sounds like Indiana. I am worried about when we go to Indianapolis
next week. I have to figure out if my main road is closed. Donna :grouphug: |
The worst of Hurricane Dorian will spare us
We did lots of prepping for Hurricane Dorian: managed to fill up both cars with
gas, get cash out of the bank, and buy batteries and food. I would like to feel better about our water supply, so tomorrow, I want to fill up empty jugs and tupperware containers with tap water in case we will will not be able to access water from the sink. The category 4 hurricane has 140 mph winds. Even so, we think that the "track" favors us. M |
I have been thinking about you a lot with this storm. That would be so wonderful!
|
Thinking of you Mari as we watch and pray it does not make landfall. We have friends living in Florida on the coast who have evacuated. Please be safe and do fill those jugs and containers with water. I hope you are not on the coast. We thought about living in Florida during retirement but have ruled this out. I sure don't like all the snow we get in Wisconsin, but it is safe. The occasional tornado warning but nothing in our neck of the woods.
Be safe and please keep us posted. Take care Cindy |
