I should say that to God! I think it would help me more. I hope things go well with your mother and father this time.
Merry Xmaas.

Thank you, Bobby.

We have to clean up somehow.

They will be here Thursday / Dec 27 at approx 6:00 p.m.
(coming here via taxi from the airport).

The house is not exactly dirty but it's certainly messy and most of it is my stuff.

i bet they won't even notice if it messy as long as they have a place to sit. Don't worry about it. Yesterday I finally shredded three large bags of paper. What a sense of freedom.

You are right about a sense of freedom.
And also right that they would not notice.

I think I am mostly cleaning for myself so that I can prepare for
our return to work without all this old stuff that needs to be
thrown out.

just don't pressure yourself! That is all you need. I do hope your visit with your strange parents go okay. I forgot how old they are. I wonder if your father has a new chore for you. I don't think they are much older than me. Their life doesn't seem to get harder. They sound as if they are still filled with life!

Bobby,

They were both born in the first two months of 1940.
They are turning 80 in Jan / Feb 2020.

The last time Dad and I went to a small park and fed the ducks and talked a lot.
They had only two nights with us because of airline issues.
This time they will have three nights in town.

He likes the 3-night restaurant plan he has worked out over the years:
1st night: An O.K. Italian restaurant
2nd night: Fabulous Greek restaurant
3rd night: Mom and Hubby grocery shop and Hubby cooks at home.

They do suck as parents but they are good together.

They met each other when they were 13 in a Catholic School a few towns away
from each other on Long Island.

I wonder if it was instant attraction at that time or I wonder what made the connection. How long have they been married.? They don't depend on each other do they since each seems to have so many interests. Have they mellowed out a bit?
