Hi there! Just joined the forum a few days back so catching up. Sorry about your loss (not sure if it was a person or a pet, but either way, I understand how hard it can be).

I too have suffered with IBSD. What I was recommended was a probiotics 30billion CFUs tablet daily and a diet overhaul (no gluten, dairy, added sugars, highly processed or bad fats foods, oranges and peanuts. I think the latter two might be for something else that troubles me though). I'd highly recommend the probiotics and the gluten as those two seem to work best for the constipation part of it. I can't even remember how long it took me to get to feeling much better, but I cut everything cold turkey for like 2 months. Now I can cheat every once in awhile, but as I said, the gluten (breads particularly) slow me up. Fortunately I've not had diarrhea but once since all of this (it's been at least 3 years I'd say), and the one time I think was kindof food poisoning like.

Anyway, yeah, I mean I don't know about a typical doctor if they'd recommend such a plan. I go to a holistic doctor who doesn't solely rely on medicine to fix everything...or tries to avoid it as much as possible even. Oh, also maybe regular exercise too will help with keeping you regular. There are specific yoga poses that are meant to aid in digestion and keeping organs functioning properly.

Just my two cents! Best wishes to you!

Suri was my best friend and was only 60. I wake up every morning nauseated. Lately I started putting sugar in my tea and I just started buying bread..not white bread. I guess I though bread might make my stomach feel better. I started drinking apple cider vinegar and a lot of times lemon water. I see my regular doctor.on wednesday and will see if he can give me anything for gas.
I wake up every morning so depressed and anxious but my antidepressant seems to work..
thanks for suggestions. if you have any more i would be appreciative.

HI, Bobby.

Cooked rice helps my stomach sometimes.

I hope that you feel better.

yeah rice or (and I can't do this anymore cuz of no dairy but) cooked and cooled rice with yogurt and a pinch of salt...or yogurt, water and a pinch of salt to make a drink (all for the D part tho)

constipation I've read things like pure apples (not applesauce), bananas um...forget what else...prunes/prunejuice are all good for the C

if you get something for gas, let me know. I've been better, sorta, but like I now belch a lot...probably from eating too close to bed, but ...

mine is constipation and often times gas besides cramps. II now eat bananas but I am afraid of most fruit. I read not to eat stone fruit. My friend uses a prescription powder for gas. I might ask my internist this week if can give it to me. i can't stop drinking coffee with cream. prunes work for me but they are high in calories. dried fruit didn't work. i stopped eating red meat and only have a little chicken. i just ordered a lot of chicken soup even though i know i am not supposed to eat the noodles. i just ordered a lot of anise in tea and seeds. i have ginger tea and ginger caplets. i should start having chamomille tea. i mentioned i think that fresh lemon with water and apple cider vinegar with water on an empty stomach do help stomach pains and possibly gas. i don't feel like eating vegetables except for creamed spinach. my diet is now atrocious. the bipolar and anxiety make everything worse. so far aplenzin is the only antidepressant that works for me. as soon as i get up i take it.
thanks so much
bobby
didn't wake up nauseated this morning.
oh the only laxative that always works for me is liquid magnesium citrate..

Anise for constipation
The researchers found that anise could effectively reduce nausea, gastric ulcers, and constipation. Herbal medicine also suggests that anise is a carminative, which prevents fermentation of food in the intestines and prevents the formation of gas in the digestive tract.
thanks so much donna..
i have been so anxious lately. the klonopin isn't working well.
