Bobby

Keep encouraging him. Also try asking him if he would go to either
a dietician or a nutritionist. Instead of a diet doctor. Tell him they
will help him learn to eat healthy. Not sure but ask him also if he
has diabetes explaining you are pre-diabetes and have heard its
good to go to a dietician for learning about eating as a diabetic if
you are.

Not saying you should, but that is what I would say to him. I will
say when I first was diagnosed I went for the classes and really enjoyed
them.
