I honestly don't know which one Dan has. He can be depressed
but he does pretty good right now. He is very quiet and laid back
its when he is out and about and gets mad that you have to watch
him. His temper gets the worst of him.

He can get depressed when not on his meds.

can't you ask his doctor and is there any medication he can take for his anger? I am bipolar 2 and can feel rage. I am never laid back except when I read. If you find out what his doctor diagnosed him as you can read up to be more supportive. you will also be able to understand him more and look our for danger signs. does he ever have manic episodes or has he ever been psychotic?

Yes, yes he has been maniac and I'm guessing the other word that I can't
spell right now. He is an adult and I can't ask his doctor for these answers
unless he gives me permission. But he is doing well right now and unless
things start going wrong he will be fine.

His doctor does know how to reach me if she needs to. I've talked to
her before. But when I talked to her she was new to his care.

I hope it continues!! I guess we are different. I would do everything in my power to learn as much as I could about his mental illness.

I learn as much as I can. It changes all the time. I have lots of
family that has lots of mental health issues. SO I just do what I can.

Right now I have to concentrate on Derrick, and then Dale's health
issues. As long as Dan is stabile then he is doing good.

I will let Kortni let me know if I need to work on him again for a while.

Derrick has his usual problems. And right now we are waiting to
find out when he will have surgery. I will update on that when
I know when.

Right now he is working to loss weight, by going on the keto diet,
which only he can do. I can't do that for him. It has to be his will
power. And he is doing healthy eating, and healthy exercise. But
luckily the vocational rehabilation program is helping with this
because we had to put getting a job on a back burner till after his
surgery, so they have come on board and have helped with having
his job coach do a hour a week of exercise, or walking with him.

This is really good, because he has a hard time doing this on his own.
I go in when I can and do some walking around with him when I can.
After this next week or two it will be easier because my job will be easier to
do on the road. Its winding down.

what are his usual problems?

Its been a busy few weeks. I don't know anything new because
I haven't seen Derrick, but he goes to the plastic surgeon this
week on Thursday but it will be a while before I post on the computer
probably. But we will see.

I haven't seen many others just stay around the house. Its been raining
a lot again. But then it always does in the spring here.

Well this morning I should have been the bee then. Instead of
trying to walk, and buzzed around. I fell in the corner of my living
room. And broke the glass out of my mom's shadow box. And I
sure cried over that. But after I picked myself up, and got over it
a while. I hadn't the energy to wait on the hubby to get home tired
and not able to help me pick the glass up.
But figured I'd let Kortni know in case she and Dan bring Harmony
before it got picked up that it was there.
So she calls Dan and within 5 minutes he is here, and is helping me
pick it up. heehee, He will do just about anything she ask.

Well today has gone about the best it could. I was really concerned
I wouldn't be able to accomplish what one of my parents was wanting.

But I got what both my sets of parents wanted today. I'm so happy.

Of course just when I was hoping to slow down for the end of the
school year. I find out a school Out of School suspended a student
for 5 days, for tardies. I haven't seen the paperwork but that is what
dad says they did. Its the last 5 days and he is an 8th grader and its
just finals. Ugh, I have no clue if I have any chance of getting them
to do finals virtually for him.

This is really weird, but its a school that I've got lots of problems with.
I also know that a younger young man is suspended also for today and
tomorrow I had heard that earlier today. I've been working for a while
with that mom. And I knew earlier today that they wanted a meeting.
I"m a little concerned right now.

My last conference I Had scheduled went pretty good. So I'm pretty
happy we will see how things go when school restarts in the fall.

With covid and all.

Derrick's appointment with surgeon went well. No surgery until
he is sure he wants it. So right now not surgery. I'm fine and rest
of family is too. So we will wait and see. It was man boobs surgery.

I can't remember I don't think I posted Derrick isn't having surgery
right now. The surgeon said, to wait till Derrick is concerned and
wants it. I agree.

Dale had no blockage, so we are waiting till the cardiologist tells
him what he plans to do with the leakage next week. But I'm
guessing right now its just taking medicine like he started.

Here we are to June 2nd. And I forgot to tell you I'm finally getting
a new couch in a few weeks we had to order it. Hmmm, for some reason
the one we wanted had to be ordered. But when Devin and Meluvja
went to the same sale the one they got didn't have to be ordered. That
is okay though. I'm okay with the one I've got till it comes in.

They really needed a new one too. And a couple of chairs, I'm so glad we
both got our new furniture. After my living room gets some work done
on it I'm hoping to get a new chair just for me too. We will see.

Derrick also found a Convection Oven with a Fry oven I can't remember exactly
what its called there. And we got it for his birthday later this month.
And since buying for his birthday and christmas is not easy that was great.

Derrick's 30th birthday is on June 15th I had a hard time finding a
keto birthday cake. But I finally did on esty and ordered it. Its a
red velvet cake I hope he likes it. And it stays good a while because
he wont want to eat it all at once. And I don't like red velvet but
he does. I'll get me a small chocolate one and eat that.

But also I'm on vacation starting tomorrow for 10 days since he has a birthday and then some appointments the following week. And I need to go visit my
sisters. They all seem to be having problems right now. So traveling to
see me isn't in the cards. So I'll go maybe next time they can come to me.

A keto birthday cake.....I can't wait to hear how it tasted to you. and if derrick liked it. how is his diet going keto is hard to stick to, has he lost a lot of weight?

I'm guessing he has lost about 20 lbs so far. He has definitely lost weight
in his face and I can see it in his body. But its not showing on the scales
like he would like. So he gets discouraged. But I know when Dale
and I were there a couple weeks ago his behavior therapist told him
the same as I he had lost weight. So others can see it.

He is weighing around 230 now. So we will see how it keeps going.

I think the hardest part for him is to eat enough right now. He isn't
eating enough calories I don't think so he is working on that.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the well wishes for Derrick's birthday he had a great day.
And then on the 16th he got his keto red velvet cake. And I was already
in Kokomo but he said it was good. He is doing well on his diet and has
definitely lost 13 lbs. But he had before the birthday lost 5 more lbs.
So he is on the right track and has gone back pretty much on his diet.
And will lose more. I'm pretty proud of him. He will get to the weight
he wants soon. We just have to keep working on it.

I had a good visit with my 3 sisters, I wish I could show you my picture
with them. But I don't do a good job of getting pictures on my computer
so its not a way. Its on my face book page. And my name there is dmom3005.
Its just somewhere on my page.

Then I went back to Derrick's, took him to see his new primary. We like this
new guy. He is a very nice young guy. He can be Derrick's primary for
a long time. Which is great.

Then we had my dog, and his dogs birthdays together on Tuesday. We know Dobey was given to him in June so we always celebrate his gotcha day then,
and we have added Jakes. They had a great day.

Wednesday we had his quarterly day. And had a great meeting. And now we are set for the next three months. And a new year.

Thank you donna for your nice post to me on my thread. I drank today, 2 beers and drank 4 glasses of water to cut the beers down just adding a bit of beer to the water. So I stuck to 2 beers. I knew that I would not be able to go to trivia and not drink jeff was going to go with out me. I am just miserable by myself, and trivia is fun, there were a lot of people there.


I am glad that you had a good time with your sisters. congratulate derrick on his weight loss. can't believe he is 30....he was just a youngster when we first started meeting you on these forums. were you posting on brain talk from before?

I think the drinking some beer with the water is a good way to cut down
on the beer. It sounds more like your drinking water-beer that way.

So I'm really glad your finding ways to cut down. I find that because its
for trivia its not a bad way to do it.

I've been posting Derrick and I updates on you guys post. But here they are again.

July 1st, Derrick took an ambulance to hospital for 2 seizures, and an ear infection. Then he came to my house till July 8th, then I went to his house
till July 12th, when I took him back to the doctor, he had finally gotten his
hearing back that day or the Sunday before. But anyway. He is now at
home doing pretty good. As luck would have it his usual provider for taking
to his neuro has a family emergency, and I had already asked someone to
help her take him to neuro so he wouldn't be going by himself. And my friend
wasn't going to be able to take him. So his provider took by herself. He did a good job going and doing his appointment. Anyway, things are pretty good
here. I'm doing good, and I'm back working a lot for my company.

My husband is having lots of back problems now. And is working on retiring.

Thank you to you both. Its a two way street in this timing. He wanted
to help me clean up my clothes when he came out here. But he kept
finding he had no strength. I knew we needed to wait but just let him
think at first it was me. Then a day or later he figured out he had no strength
to do it. I told him, he needed to quit worrying, he would be back and it
would still be there to do. And it will as he knows I can't do it by myself.

He is a keeper that is for sure.

Well Derrick is getting his working experience set up so he can
get it in his resume. I've been helping him ask some friends for
references. Because his email doesn't exactly work right at
times. So they are either sending them to me, or taking them
directly to his provider agency to give to the job coach area.

Which ever is easier for them. I think I've finally found the
third one. Hopefully

Derrick and I spent yesterday shopping for me a couple of maxi dresses
for the end of August. He really enjoys going shopping so I love having
him with me. But if you want to lose someone he is also the one to
have with you, even when you aren't trying to lose him. He just disappears.

Well its either 100 or higher today. We are having a heat wave right now.
I'm staying in as much as I can. I don't do well in this weather.

I sent my husband a list of groceries to pick up tonight or tomorrow so
I don't have to go to town. Heehee,

I haven't talked to anyone this week. Except Dan, and he and Kortni
and Harmony are good. I will be talking to them all later again.

Need to do some laundry soon.
