they just cancelled a concert that was going on in central park. my friend joyce lives on long island.

Yes, they've shut down or going to shut down a lot of things, but I was just looking at some tracking maps and it might hopefully veer further east. Crossing fingers. I guess the main worry with even a cat 1 is storm surge and flooding. Plus I think it's full moon time so tides will be higher than usual. I know this because I can never sleep when it's full moon.

Do you have books or games on your kindles?

I saw you talking about lentil soup. I'm a vegetarian and make beautiful lentil soup. My secret ingredient is a teaspoon of curry powder and a few chili flakes when I'm cooking down the onion, garlic and celery part at the beginning.

i am going to try to make your lentil. i wonder if you also use cumin. i just my kindle to read. i think i might have close to 500 books and when i find an author i like i buy more-no control.
that is interesting about not being able to sleep with a full moon. i bought the lentil soup from amazon. i hope you are right about the storm.

Yes, can use cumin as well. Some people use a little grated raw ginger, but I've never done that. I used to make my lentil soup with white potatoes in it, but lately I just use yellow/orange vegetables like the carrot and orange sweet potato (kumara). I've come to like the texture better without the white potato. I also use the brown dried lentils. I soak them for a while and rinse very well. They work out better than the canned lentils. After making it all up I blend it for a short while but leave some chunky bits as well as the smooth, if that makes sense.

I hope you feel a little more settled now and that you'll be able to get some sleep yourself tonight. Keep safe there.

bobby, If you ever eat pork, or ham, you can use that in the soup, it gives it a better flavor and more protein, and lentils have a lot of fiber.
Glad that you found your phone.
I don't have a kindle Just a desk top.
good night, hope you sleep well.

i just sent alice another email and wrote i was so worried and is everything all write..
my caseworke just called to see how i was doing. we talked a lot about God Celia said not to hesitate to call and I told her that i been very depressed. she said to email alice a short note.
joyce sent me a funny email after the news came out that we missed the hurricane. she wrote as willie said all's well that ends well. i had to ask her who willie was and she wrote william shakespeare. i laughed.

alice replied to my email and apologized and said she has been so preoccupied. i said i am mentally ill and have never been psychotic but i catastrophize and thought you may have the virus. i told her she was close to being perfect and even though she doesn't believe or is an agnostic she will go straight to heaven. i have been friends with her for over 50 year.
i said i am a good listener and comforter and if i could be of service let me do it. a while back after her husband died i called ever sunday and mostly listened. a long time later she said the calls really helped.
before i saw the email i tried calling her twice -the first time it said the phone was disconnected and the second time it just rang and rang. my anxiety went through the roof and i went to my computer to check the number and then i saw the email. i had been dialing the wrong number.
