You know taking a bunch of meds and going to bed sounds good right about now.
Pain and new meds to help with the pain will do that to you. Maybe a combo of the meds. I know that the raise in Robaxin has made my libido go down a little. Not to worry. You just had surgery. Give it time.

Dear Nikko, Pain (even at a low level) can cause depression. Also, you are recovering from a lot of anticipation and preparation and almost in a kind of let down now. You were working off stress before. Now the depression has a chance to find a place -- at least that is one way of looking at it. Regarding sexual issues: my vote is the Cymbalta even if you have been on it for a while. But any meds could prob throw off somebody's system. Take it easy. Give yourself time. Be aware that the lack of sleep is effecting you. And know that we care about you. Mari |

I had a full hysterectomy back in the 80's. Actually this has been going on prior to the surgery and then some.
I am just confused now, a bit depressed, tired, sore, in some pain, and have no strength. I have PT to look forward too, maybe that will help me out of this funk if I see improvement soon, but since it doesn't start for 3 wks now, UGH I hope the surgeon see's that I am doing better than expected (even though mentally I am not, but he won't know that) maybe I can start earlier. But he said before PT I need to heal. Maybe I feel guilty with Dirk doing everything. Maybe I am not as attracted to him as I thought. My mind is spinning and spinning. Tomorrow I drive to my appointment, worried about that, but I am pretty sure it won't be too bad. Just getting out of the house will help, even if it is only to see the surgeon. I had to cancel my p-doc due to my surgery, maybe I should call and reschedule now. Just call me Maybe.............One thing I can be thankful for is, I don't have that awful pain I had prior to the surgery. He took out some bone spurs, I swear its a bit noticiable if you look straight at me, at my shoulders, maybe it's all in my mind. Why don't they have something like Viagra for women? Hugs, Nikko |

I believe its all from the surgery and the before stuff. I felt a lot of the same things you are saying, before my elbow surgery 6 years ago. And I spent a week in the hospital because I couldn't get the pain to go down. And I have had lots of things with pain now. So I can totally relate. Try taking it easy. And please after your appointment, see if you can just relax, give yourself more time to heal. I would also think that the shoulder pain is doing a lot of this. I know that mine is minor probably compared to yours, and I have no desire for any kind of movement 3/4 th of the day. And sleep, what is that. Donna |
