Default Changing meds

Because of the weight gain, next month I will slowly be going off the depakote and on to Abilify. Anyone have any recommendations or comments?

Yep, I've come here for advice re: our dau and folks have been helpful and kind.

She started Abilify a long time ago...I think we were lowering Serqouel significantly.

In her case, it caused an upset stomach initially.

So, we had to re-start at a slightly lower dosage for the first day or two. We also had her take something for her stomach for the first week. That did the trick.

Abilify has been a helpful medication for her with little or no weight gain.

I've been taking abilify for a few years and it's worked out awesome for me, no noticable side effects and it has really controlled the racing thoughts and the mood swings, though I take trazadone at night for sleep and think that has helped with mood stabilization too. Good luck with the transition Wendy!
