Default OT: hubby burned his hand while making tea

Hi,
When I woke up Sunday afternoon, I found that hubby was holding an ice pack to the his hand and telling me about burning it in the steam from the tea kettle.

The skin didn't appear broken -- just red -- but beyond noticing that, I did not know what to do for him.

Eventually, we went to the pharmacy and let the Pharmacist look at him. He gave us some stuff (a spray w/lidocaine and a little aloe and silver sulfadiazine cream). Then I went to the health food store and bought 98% Aloe lotion.

For a few hours he kept talking about how much it hurt.
I gave him tylenol and told him he could keep applying aloe.
I didn't know what else to do for him.
I was worried for him.

But the weird thing is that my worry did not sink in until recently tonight.
I'm sad that he got hurt and that things like this can seem to happen for no reason at all. I'm thankful that I have him. He is very important to me.

But then, I think that my anxieties and sadness tend to intensify at night.

I'm sorry about your hubby's hand Barbara. I know how painful burns are. I hope you are less anxious now and getting some sleep

Heart

wow, the pharmacist really helped you.
I understand about your feelings....
I do think we are more vulnerable to them in the evening when we are getting tired from a long day and sometimes it is the only time toreally connect with our hubbies.
Glad that you helped him, burns hurt for sure.
