Default Tired of election news and commercials

Hi,
I live in a state where the candidates run ads on tv and radio all day. I'm tired of it.

I'm also tired of the news about the state of the economy.

I'm depressed without both of those going on and adding to my depression and anxiety.
Enough already.

Heart

I am sorry that you are depressed right now.
All of these issues are very upsetting...these are upsettting times.
I hope that you can turn off the tv or mute it when those ads come on.
Have the phone calls started yet?
I was getting those last week.
how about some ice cream?

No phone calls except for the local election.
I can't wait to get my ballot in the mail and send it back. I want to be finished.

Ice cream is good.

Cool I know what you mean.

They are now calling large groups of people in my state at night. I especially don't like the ringing telephone, about the candidates at any time.

Those commercials are irritating also. You will be watching TV,and suddenly with out a pause a commercial will come on. Allot of those commercials are about health problems, heart attacks, playing the same commercials over, and over, sometime the same commercial two times in a row. They are getting worrisome. They give you a bad feeling, when you are trying to get away from them.

So many commercials,I hate them. They where not suppose to be on Cable TV,or satellite TV in the beginning of those services anyway. So we pay the satellite bill, and sponsors pay them too. Someone,is getting overpaid, and yes, they will say they are not. What happened? Politicians, the economy, big business corruption, death, and taxes. Yuck!!! BF I forgot the "Paid Programming" late at night. As soon as I see that,I change the channel immediately.

Dear Friend,

You are right.
Many of the ads are designed to upset.
I hate the ones about medical coverage.
Also there is one running about stem cell research that starts off with a mother talking about her sick daughter.

Yuck.
I need to go radio-free.

My car has an old tape deck.
I think I threw out all my tapes when we moved 2 years ago but I should look in case I can play something in the car on the way back and forth to work that is free of ads.

Really. I would be watching something that I'm enjoying on TV,then a man on a commercial comes on,and says he had a heart attack at 57. A wake up call he says. They another commercial comes on,and there is a young man being sued for 100 thousand dollars, and the whole family is standing in court grieving, and hugging each other. That makes me feel bad. Then another commercial comes on, and it may be political. Hate them. Then I turn to another channel, and they have commercials on at the same time. Yuck.

After some of those commercials,I'm distracted from what I'm watching, and have a bad feeling. It's a fallen world. Yuck. Ouch!!! BF

Default Oh yes

I remember eight track tapes. I wish that I saved mine, because they are changing technologies so fast. I wish that I had not thrown my records away either before that. I had lots of 45's,and lots of albums. From Records,to eight track tapes,to cassette tapes,to CD's. All these new players are made in China, and cannot be repaired. I hate that. It's so controlled.

The radio has so much talk, and commercials, because it's syndicated radio,or big business radio brought in from other parts of the country. So Radio stations on AM broadcast, don't come from local towns,so all the money goes to the major networks not in our towns anymore. It's on some FM stations. Big Business seized this opportunity, and bought out many local stations. It's called syndicated radio. There are still some locally owned AM radio stations. Listen for the word syndicated. It won't be local. If I'm not totally accurate here check it out. Even the Federal Communications Commission does not like this syndicated radio tread from what I've heard.BF

Dear Friend,

It is great to hear from you.
I remember that you are into radios and other technology.

My car has an audio cassette tape player built in with the radio -- no cd player like other cars have. I've only used the tape player two or three times since I bought the car used 9 years ago

I don't have an iPod or other MP3 player. Do folks have those to listen to stuff in the car or out and about?

I miss local AM stations.
I grew up listening to them.

I threw away or gave away the albums a long time ago.
It would have been too hard to move with them.

But the sound quality is different.
Even my tin ear can tell the difference.

Default the stupid debates

ranting.. . beware . . .

Oh yeah and those stupid debates.

A friend at work asked me to record them for her onto VHS.

I would have skipped them, but because of her, I made a point to be home and put the tape in and so on.
One night I even went almost nuts to two stores trying to find blank tapes.
And yes, I very sweetly gave her the tapes the next morning at work.

I could have done something else with my life during those 1.5 hours.
