Unhappy

Bizi,
I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Currently I am taking:
Seroquel
Cymbalta
Lyrica
Klonopin
Baclofen
As far as sleeping.... it varies daily. Sometimes I sleep 4-6 hours, other times it's only 2 but usually less. Lately I've been scared to sleep...can't explain it and I don't know why...but I am often scared to fall asleep. When I do sleep...I'm not resting or restoring. I'm frustrated but doctor doesn't want to add anything to my meds...as many of these are sedative in nature.

really? I sleep good! Like real GOOD! I am bp1 and I am just a great sleeper. But I am also not treated at the moment because they are deciding what they are going to do with me But at the moment my sleep is good.

But I do recall having issues sleeping before when I only new I had panic disorder. What is causing you to me so worried? Do you need to relax? I had to like put my phone on silent continuously. I had to like do a lot of relaxations practices like Yoga and zen meditation music, lavender oils and pepermint oils.

Yeah Have you tried different relaxation techniques? Medication can be helpful but you sound like you need some activity of relaxation.

Cool

I have to say, its been a slight battle with getting the right dose on the trazedone, Im up to three right now. Knowing me, as I do, it will last for about maybe a few more days, then I will have to take four, and that is the highest dose a person can take. But I have my fingers crossed that it will work.
I read on some posts about the fear of going to sleep. I have this to, but my problem is I had agoraphobia, so bad I could not leave my bed. So trying to get back into bed, now..Its just a reminder of a horrible period I went through. I have to say though, I sort of made my side of the bedroom (husband is on the other side) more of a safe haven, rather than just a bed to sleep in. I read before I sleep, so I have my nice little reading lamp, my books, and my dresser is lined with pictures of my kids, flowers, candles, and it helps me to feel comfortable in my surrounding. I also use a fan, which blocks out the neighbor noise, the cars on the street, and even my husband coming in late from work.
On a different topic, Im currently in touch with a holistic physician and she said that celery has the benefit of helping you sleep. Of course, I'd probably have to eat two bunches, at this point, but at the same time, its not like it is going to interact with my meds. Its worth a try for me, even though I never really liked celery.

hi mickey,
thanks for checking in.
Do you ever try the sleepy time teas?
they have valerian root in them, hubby uses them every now and then.
I am hoping that you are able to stay at a certain dose the rest of the week. When do you see your pdoc again? She sounds fantastic!
Do you have a therapist as well?

Hi, Mickey,
That's good that you were able to make your bed / bedroom a happy and safe place for you.

I use a noise maker -- works like your fan -- because it helps me tune out all the noise in my head.

Heart No more ambien

I was able to convince my dr that the ambien was not having any effect on me, whatsoever. I would take it and still be awake 3 hours later. So she took me off of the ambien and actually she really did not like having to put me on it in the first place, but after 5 days of no sleep, she said she was just trying to knock me out. And then of course the lab did not run two of the tests she ordered, so I have to go back again and get that done. But the good news is I am sleeping and managing to get through the day just fine. I guess you would call it spring cleaning in the fall. Finally finished painting my kitchen and now Im on to the bathroom. So Im tiring myself out, which I think is helping me sleep also. Well thanks for everyone's input....

Hi,
I couldn't take Ambien because it stinks as a sleeping aid and because it interfered with my birth control pill and caused break through bleeding. Yeah, TMI. Sorry. . .. just noting that getting the right mix is a challenge that we are familiar with.

What color is the kitchen?
It probably feels good to have a project completed and all wrapped up -- so different from managing a medical condition.

Keep up the good sleep!

Mari

Unhappy Friggin Update

By the way, the kitchen cabinets were painted black when we moved in and it was really depressing. But now they are white. Then the bathroom was a danky sort of dark green, not pretty at all, so painted the top part sky blue, and the bottom part (wainscoat) white. During my bath I felt like I was in a cloud in the sky and lmao!!!! It needs decorating to soften it up a bit.
BUT, as predicted Im already used to the 3 trazedones Im taking on top of the remeron and the klonopin and I really hate to go up to 4 because then that's it. Four 150 mg of trazedone is the highest limit my dr will prescribe. I'm going to try one more night and see what happens. Right now I fall asleep just fine, but then Im waking up anywhere from three to six times a night. At least Im not waking in a panic, Im just waking up. And somehow Im managing to fall back to sleep, but in the morning, Im friggin drained, its like I have not slept at all. Last time this happened, this past summer, was when my dr started trying other things and I started having seizures on one of them, so Im some what apprehensive about starting all of that again. I would give anything to be able to sleep just one friggin night without waking. And she said Lunesta is out of the question because I have ptsd, which could cause night terrors. OH YEAH!!! Can we possibly get any better than that??? I have tried herbal remedies, teas and such, but they have no effect. So I guess I will wait and see what happens tonight.
