Trig Being Bipolar is no picnic....

Being bipolar is no picnic.....
FYI
Being either bipolar 1 or 2 are equally hard to manage. and are both serious.
bipolar 1 folks can get so manic that they could become psychotic and get themselves killed and
bipolar 2 folks can get so depressed that they could become suicidal and wind up dead as well......
people who suffer from mixed moods can swing from high to low in the same day.
Being bipolar is no picnic that is for sure.
In regards to these two opposite poles there are a lot of folks who are in the gray zone....falling somewhere inbetween....alot of mental health issues cross over boundaries, OCD, panic attacks, anxiety, phobias, depression, delusions and paranoia, issues with self esteem, self injury, PTSD....
I am a firm believer in getting the proper treatment, seeing a psychiatrist and getting evaluated.
It is equally important to see a therapist and learn how to cope with your particular issues.
For me medications saved my life.
I know that there are varying degrees of bipolar and there are many who do not take medications and what works for one person may not work for the other.
This is called the medication merry go round.
and until you find your right combo it is hard being patient.
and for some..... medications just don't work.
This is very hard to accept but that is the reality.
and for others what worked for a couple of years stopped working and now they are on that reel again trying to find a new path.
There are things that we can do to help ourselves...self help things. The number one thing that will help us is communication....we have to talk....we need a good diet, some exercise, yoga or deep breathing, meditation, massage, accupuncture, sleep hygiene, supportive people in our lives, family, friends, on-line and in real life....pets.
I know that some of us are isolated and this here becomes our family.
I cherish this forum and I jsut felt like getting this out tonight
hope I don't offend anyone.....

It is no picnic. It's more like falling off the cliff near the picnic. I hate to complain this way,but this illness has been continually hurting me recently, and my family is rejecting me. I cannot get rid of this anxiety pain in my chest most of the time now. Now they want me to move. Where? This is driving me nuts right now.

I still haven't gotten a therapist from Region Ten. They say it takes paper work. I'm sorry to complain like this. I'm in pain from anxiety in my chest, and there is nothing that they seem to be able to do about it. My emotions dip,and rise, and dip back down into emotional shambles. I don't know what to do. I'm listening. I'm sorry. BF

But when you fall off that cliff friend, I'll be reaching my hand down to pull you back up. You're very special to me, leave it in God's hands, He will see you through

Default Thank you BJ

It hurts right now,but I'll make it through it. That pain has been coming, and going allot more recently, and fear. I think that it's because my sister wants me to move soon. I haven't been given a date. I'm sure that she doesn't know the impact that it's having on me emotionally. It's a insult,on top of injury,on top of everything else though. I'd better get off of here. I'm in allot of pain, and I don't want to bring people down.

I hope that you are doing OK. Thanks for your encouragement. BF

I'm sorry that your going through that anxiety pain in the body also. Maybe there are answers, and help for this. I have not received any help for it yet.

Maybe places like Mayo Clinic, and other top of the line places know more, but I'm not getting much help, nor do they tell me what to do about the pain that anxiety causes in the middle of the body. The muscles seem to be pulling inside of my body, and moving around in different areas. I grit my teeth in my sleep, and my dentist has made a bite guard for me.

There doesn't seem to be to many people going through this. I wonder how much medical research has been done on this phenomenon. I don't even think that they have a name for it. Brokenfriend

Dear Friend,
How much Seroquel are you on?

I used to have tremendous anxiety.
I now take Verpamil (usually a heart med) and 2.5 Klonopin.

Default Hi Mari

I'm on 50 Mg's of Seroquel at bedtime now. I'm on 0.25 Mg's of Xanax 3 times a day,and 2 at bedtime. I'm allowed to have 6 a day,but no more. I'm on 150 Mg's of Luvox in the morning,and 100 Mg's at bed time. BF
