Dear Bobby,
We had not heard from you in a long time, so I was worried.
Thank you for checking in even though it might be hard for you.
I feel like I should be able to do something for you or give you some wonderful advice.
Maybe the best thing we can do on this board is be here for each other -- dependent on timing and what each of us can deal with of course.
I think sometimes people need a break from the board.

I imagine that getting outside for short periods once in a while is a good thing. Do you have to go out to buy food? Get to the mailbox?

Is that an effort or can you handle doing chores?

Mari

that was beautiful BF. Thank you. I have blood tests every three months. This is depression. I got good news yesterday. My scrie application renewal approval was approved but they need a copy of my lease. I called them up yesterday again. I thought i was coming out of the depression yesterday morning but i started sliding back into it. EVERYTHING IS AN EFFORT. i did pet yuki for a half a hour this morning.
I need to read some spiritual things but i goofed and read most of Lamentations.
Thank you for the SOS forum. I will start reading it.

Hi Bobby,

Maybe Lamentations isn't the best read for a depressed person?

Song of Songs (Song of Solomon)? or maybe Psalms?

There are a million things to read. Maybe not something so sad?

Most commentators see Lamentations as reflecting the period immediately following the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC,[3] though Provan argues for an ahistorical interpretation.[4] Many elements of the lament are borne out in the historical narrative in 2 Kings concerning the fall of Jerusalem: Jerusalem lying in ruins (Lamentations 2:2 and 2 Kings 25:9), enemies entering the city (Lamentations 4:12 and 2 Kings 24:11), people going into exile (Lamentations 1:3 and 2 Kings 24:14) and the sanctuary being plundered (Lamentations 1:10 and 2 Kings 24:13).

Bizi,
Tritone has it.
My bible describes Lamentations as a book (a book is like a long chapter) as a funeral song to Jerusalem after the Babylonians destroyed it.
The book is moving, poetic, and very sad.
M.

Tritone,
I used to read the psalms.
I liked the ones where the speaker is calling for help and / or asking for comfort.

Dear Bobby,
That is good news about your scrie application.
I used to borrow my friend's dog to pet when I needed to calm myself. I imagine that having a cat to pet is comforting.

I was in a good enough mood on Sunday and then got set off and have felt bad since then. I can't figure out rhyme or reason to my moods.

Isaiah chapters 41 through 46 are very encouraging. There are some precious verses in there for people who feel bad. BF
