It's Thanksgiving Day in the US.
Last year I was looking for a pecan pie. Ideally one piece because I hate to buy a pie and throw out the rest. I could go to a restaurant and order one piece but who has time for that??? This year I am wanting a sweet potato pie. And one piece will not do. I want a whole pie now. Hubby and I had our turkey and stuffing last week. But I forgot about pie.....ok, not really forgot, ....... I know that I cannot keep sweets in the house. so I don't like to bring them in. Who has favorite pies? I promise to make it to the gym this weekend, but I will also go find a sweet potato pie mari |

Hi Mari
Happy T-Day to everybody. I'd have to say that my VERY favorite pie is one I used to get at a restaurant here. I think it was called watercress pie or something like that. I also like pecan pie and chocolate chiffon. I want to get Bizi's recipe. I forget what she calls it but it sounds heavenly. I have never cared much for pumpkin pie but at a pot luck years ago a gal brought a pumpkin chiffon pie. OMG it was delicious. My daughter and I made it today and had enough of the insides left to eat it as pudding. That was dinner! We did good. This is the first time I've cooked a real Thanksgiving meal in about 6 or 7 years and am really looking forward to it. My daughter wants to learn how to cook and separated her first egg today!! She did two of them beautifully. Hugs Hamster |

Hi Mari and Hamster,
Mari, my favorite pie would be cocconut. I may make one today without the pie shell. I didn't really think about desert being it's just me today. Hamster, those must be some memory making days where your daughter separated her first egg. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL. befuddled2 |

Hamster, I never heard of watercress pie so I looked it up: http://recipezaar.us/?m=recipes&a=view&recipe_id=1166
Did yours have cheese or tofu with the watercress? It sounds interesting. I have good memories of cooking with my mother in the kitchen. She was a stickler for a following a recipe. I think I learned more about her than about food but I did learn about baking. it is nice that you can cook together. Befuddled, OMG, coconut pie is always good. You reminded me!! I envy you for cooking. It is a good way to nurture yourself (literally and spiritually). I hope that you both have a good weekend. Mari |

Funny, my mother.
She bought a pecan pie, and said "this is what you are taking, you owe me 11 dollars." |

Does Cheese Cake count as pie? I can eat an entire cheese cake all by myself. It is the one thing I cannot control my temptation for.
oh mmmmm- I want cheese cake now. I hope you find your pie, Mari. |
