I have to hit the mute button to stop what I don't want to hear on these TV commercials. I'll be watching TV,and a heart attack medication commercial will come on,followed by something else dome,and gloom. It's gotten to the point where most commercials have a downer affect,or they keep reminding us of our economy. They seem to keep me uneasy. BF

I'm sorry this is happening. I am far away so i have different commercials. They are stupid and annoying and i usually mute them anyway.

But i know what you mean because I have that problem with news. Highly sensationalistic and the sensations are just awwwwwwful. They keep harrrrping on things... not so much actual worries like the economy, but criminal activities and OH, it is just DISGUSTING and extremely DISTURBINGGGGGG!!!

I understand a need to report certain things, but I believe they really overplay it overdo it, and go on and on and on about the same things... they make you live and breathe it if you listen to them.


thank goodness for mute buttons, off buttons... and, if trapped by tv-watching housemates, EAR PLUGS!

Ain't it tha truth! Between the news,and the commercials,they make it sound like the end of the world. Global warming...who really knows...it might be a natural cycle on the earth. What are just the fact's on the economy... I don't want to hear 500 peoples opinion on TV...They don't know what's going to happen. If they could just report the facts...They don't...New's is a big business both on TV,and syndicated radio time,and it's news up to the minute,24/7...They report every piece of what they've heard about everything if it makes us tense... They are producing allot of fear. I don't like the sense of fear that over 1/3 of our TV commercials drill into us also these days. I really wish that the drug companies would stay the heck off the air. Tell it to the doctors,I don't want to hear about these drugs,and their potential lethal side affects. I hate that. I don't need to be reminded of that all night. I just needed to vent my aggravation about these things. Thanks for your response. BF

and seriously - i DO mute the commercials. the news i turn off or use earplugs if someone else is listening to it.

it is a pain to have to resort to these measures, when tv should be a

* LEISURELY ACTIVITY *

but it can be more of a pain to hear that %&#*$( in between what we want to see, than to be ready with the mute or plugs.

do you ever talk back to the tv? i do that too sometimes, i vent right back at it! lol... ok, kinda kooky but... it gets it out, right then and there... like

"awwww, jes shut up you hyped up fools, The Sun is STILL gonna rise Tomorrow, thank-you-very-much!!!"

I sure do. I fuss back at the TV sometimes when I hear real dumb things that have been done on the News. I don't do it often. It scares my cat.

I'll sometimes give a small lecture to the TV,stating the proper thing that should have been done.

It makes me feel a little better when I blow off some steam at the TV,as long as no one is around. BF

Commercial are getting more irritating. I hate that commercial where they start it off with a loud snore,and they have a decibel meter showing how loud it is. That's GROOOOOSSSS. You don't know it's coming,so you can't mute it.

There are over three heart attack commercials,which I find to be scarey,sue someone commercials,Insurance commercials(The Geico commercial is cute)and on,and on.

Commercials use to be more entertaining. They use to have shows where they would show famous commercials that would cause everyone to laugh,hosted by **** Clark,or someone like that. Now they are worrisome. They take away from what you are trying to watch.

What about those,"Paid Programming" half hours,early in the morning. I hate them,and make a point to not look at them anymore. They are commercials for thirty minutes on Dish Network which we have already paid for. That makes me so mad. They are making money on top of what we pay them.

TV is a complete disappointment for me.
We have many talented people in the country and in the world. Why do we get stuck with that garbage in the airwaves and on the cable?

And why can't we have real 24 hour TV? That has always bugged me. Why do we get close to dead air after a certain time at night?

I don't even do the MUTE thing. I change channels. Even an ad for an upcoming show or a movie in new release can be too intense and too dramatic. I change channels and then go back because the new channel is going to show the same stuff soon too.

It's not just tv. I think that I am super sensitive because I find myself changing radio channels. And I can't read books because I don't really want to get drawn into anything.

I don't know what it is about. Do most people who watch tv only see what they are watching when they get hit over the head?

Ain't it tha truth. I have HBO,and they show the same shows month,after month,year,after year. It's not HBO anymore. It's something else. What these People seem to be doing now is pushing the Video on demand,which you have to pay more for right then. Slowly it's changing,and someone is making a killing off of our money. If you call them up,sometimes their representatives are in another country.

These commercials have a bite to them now. They are not pleasant. Last night they had a blue eyed doctor warning us that we can die on this repetitive commercial. I thoroughly resent these type of commercials,and talking about medical side affects so that they cannot be sued. It's so unsettling. It seemed to have started not to long ago,and the Lawyer sue someone commercials started in the 90's. The buy someone's house,and mortgage,and make thousands of dollars makes me mad. They are teaching people to profit on someone who's loosing their house. Things like this. It seems to be getting worse.

They are saving money by playing these same shows one,after another. There are hundreds of varieties of TV shows that they can show us,but they are into profit,and we get less as time goes by.

The commercials...Some are 15 seconds,some 30 seconds,or more. Sometimes seven,or more commercials at one time. Shouldn't TV be free now. We are paying for this!!!!???? These people are making gazillions,and cheating us out of quality programing,and think that we don't notice. Well they are wrong,and those commercials take the cake.

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone. I'm deep into a rural area,and there is nowhere to go.

I'm sorry again. Maybe I shouldn't be talking about this.
