Angry I knew it was bound to happen all over again...

Well I am day two on abilify and last night I was so sick! I woke up at 3 am with a pounding migraine and I had to take an imitrex. It made me nauseous too. I just hate this crap! I knew it would happen again, I had no trouble sleeping but I definitely awoke with horrible pain that the imitrex took an hour to rid me of.

All of this was needless suffering just because the insurance company wanted to play therapist...Darn them to heck!

Default Sorry to Hear About your Headache!

Hi. Do you get headaches a lot? Would you say that they are sinus headaches? My brother has been back and forth to the doctor for what they think are sinus headaches, but they are awful. Sometimes they're so bad that he has to go home and lay down. I also suffered from chronic everyday headaches but since I have been on Suboxone to treat my depression, I do not have any headaches anymore, but I remember how terrible it was. Hope you feel better. Cute turtle! Larsy

Dear Pam,
I'm happy that you are back on Abilify.
That is good news finally.

I hope you get relief from the headaches. I am mad at the system for you.

Hi Larsy,

Thanks for replying, it's nice to meet you. Welcome to the board! I haven't ever tried that drug before, but I am grateful imitrex works for me and this morning I have the beginning precusors to a migraine but I am gonna wait to take one later AFTER I eat, because it really tears up my stomach. Glad you like my little turtle, he's the coolest! I really should get some new pics up...

I know Mari, it's awful! The good news is the trazadone is keeping me from suffering insomnia SO far...I hope it doesn't stop working, I still feel zero creativity...Haven't been able to write in over two months now so that is bothering me, I wonder how long it's going to take for my ability to write creatively to return. Part of that now is that Jackie is home for spring break, but MONDAY he goes back to school! HURRAY!!!!

We actually got a soccer ball for him because the behacior analyst brought one over earlier this week, Wednesday I think, and she let us play with it, and we went through the normal kicking play with it but we moved on to playing catch and he LOVED it! She had me play with him and I was stunned by his ability to focus on the game for an HOUR and a HALF! Seriously that's phenominal! (Just to let our newer members know my 12 yr old son is autistic so that's why we have a behavior analyst and why his focusing on the game for that long impresses me so much!)

We've been doing a lot of new things and it's helping him, plus we're weaning him off the risperdal slowly, I want him off that drug and all like it ASAP, I think they've served their purpose over the years and it's time to get him to work on coping without it's 'help' as he's becoming a teenager and understands practically everything we say to him now. I am glad to say while typing this post out the precusor has gotten better, I think the coffee I had really helped along with the pain meds I take for my pinched nerve in my neck, which sadly is getting worse somehow it's like snapping or crunching when I have my arms up shoulder high and bear weight with them, like pouring drinks, or cooking or washing dishes....

I have to talk to my pain management dr about it at my next appt. Hopefully it's okay, I don't know why it's worse, I got up from bed one morning and it hurt like hell when I turned my head and it seems it's been since then that it's been worse, I hope we don't need another MRI, I HATE sitting still for those tests...So a lot is going on...Not all bad, but not all good.

Pam

I'm really excited that Jackie could play with the soccer ball for 1 1/2 hours.

That is fantastic. This is another avenue you really needed some new things he can do. It might be that having this ball to kick around will make your
chair less wanting. And the kicking or hitting too.

Thanks Donna! I think it was awesome too! Hopefully we'll get him a new bicycle soon, in time for summer. He needs a tricycle and they are expensive for adult trikes...

Default That is pretty cool about the soccer

Dear Pam,

That's great that the soccer ball worked for Jackie.

You'll get your creativity back. Right now is the time for sleep and transitioning through a med adjustment.

Thanks Mari!

Today I woke up at 7am with a pounding migraine, one I was sure would leave me throwing up after taking the imitrex, and I was right, about 45 minutes later I threw up from my stomach to my toenails....It was awful! BUT the headache was mostly gone by then and after I was able to pull myself away from the toilet I felt much better. Gawd I am sick of this, yesterday wasn't bad, had a twinge but didn't take anything for it, today though I just knew I had better take a pill and NOT Take my morning meds until I hurled.

I hope to be up to playing with Jackie outside again, yesterday we played for just about an hour. It was fun too. I am glad the ball isn't popped yet...LOL! Jackie has a thing about popping balls, so far so good.
