Default broccoli

Hi,
Bizi, thank you for this this thread.

V8 juice is good.

Frozen fruits are just as good for us as fresh fruits and cheaper (also they are flash frozen close to the field and have not sat around in trucks like "fresh" fruits have).
http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recip...s-fresh-fruit/
I have a small bag each of froz blue berries and peaches I bought to use to make smoothies -- have not done that yet.

I wonder what else I could do with frozen fruits other than put them through a blender? Any ideas?

I bought some bunches of broccoli earlier on Thursday but did not cook when I came home.
I will steam and eat them on Friday.

Then I will write up a list of fruits / veggies that I can stand AND that I can cook on my own if Hubby is not here to cook.

M.

Crazy Glad to see this

My biggest fear, next to loosing my job is weight gain. I told my doctor I will not take a med with certain weight gain side effects...I will stay wacko first.
My history is lifelong weight problems. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2006 and have done very well with it, I do not want to go back there after going through all of that. I also have just been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia...my blood sugar drops when I eat sugar..dangerously low if I eat too much..... so I have to stop.. my research found that Bipolar also reacts to sugar....so my goal is to cut it out, along with white flour....told to give up the caffine...not ready to do that yet, and I do have a drink a day
How do you do on your meds with cafine and alcohol? I know its recommended not to have either

Heart

I drink caffiene it has anti oxidents and is shown to help reduce your risks of parkinsons and other ailments including Diabetes if I remember correctly.
they reccomend around 3 cups a day.
IMO it is ok but check with your primary of course I am not a doctor it is just what I have read in my nutrition news letter.
Mari, you could throw in frozen blueberries into cereal or pancakes and i like eating fruit that is frozen along with chocolate
this is why I have a weight problem also because of the increase in my meds....

Red face

I did pretty good on the diet today.
big slice of cinnamon friendship bread that hubby makes
coffee
Had 3 fruits: banana and 1/2 c.blue berries. 1/4 of a cantelope
1/4 of a muffaletta sandwich left over from yesterday...I usually eat 1/2 at a sitting.
2 cups of cucumbers and tomatoes with red wine vineagrette
6 oz poached chicken and green chilis
water with a little diet cranberry juice.
75 calorie small dark chocolate bar-full of anti oxidants!
hubby and I walked after supper...it was hot. about 1 mile is all.
I am going to watch a movie in a bit(revolutionary road with kate winslet) and have a cocktail V8 juice(which has 3 servings of veggies) and vodka and a bag of lite pop corn. I miss my blue berry beer....sigh
so hopefully I will stick to the plan and not over endulge.
beth
I should figure out the calorie content for today.

Default hi Bizi,

Dear Beth,

Wow. That's a good number of fruits and veggies. I am going to work on that in the upcoming days.

You folks in Louisana have great food.
A piece of a muffaletta sandwich sounds delicious.

Today was my third day following the WW diet.
This was my first step / first goal. I wanted to have three days on plan and I feel good about that.

I record what I eat at their on line site and can see the overall picture for the last week for example.

M.

Next:
add fruits and veggies
add exercise

Smile

I use a site called www.smartpeople.com
I have used this site before they have all my old info and favorite foods set up so it is easy to keep track of things. I also have a calorie counter place that I can look up special foods and nutrients, it is called the calorie counter:
http://www.thedailyplate.com/

good for you for making it 3 days!!!!!! way to go.
today was my first real day and I stayed at 1500 calories, did not have the alcohol or pop corn because that friendship bread/cake
IS SO fattening...I had no idea.
so I had a cup of broth wehn I started getting snacky.
the v8 juice was good with some cajun power garlic sauce...spiced it up a bit!
I never have that many fruits in a day....

Red face

Well I am still full from a big dinner but am content knowing that I stuck to my calorie count and we walked again after dinner about a mile or so maybe 2 ....walked for about 45 minutes at a steady pace.
Fruits and veggies again to day must do some paperwork before bed.
