I cannot wait for this new season to begin! I watched a preview of the new season on PBS on Sunday and it looks great. Last season ended on such a sad note.....I hope this season is a little happier. The way it looks it starts out at the 6 month mark after Matthew's untimely death.

I was disappointed with the ending. . . . so disappointed that I am not sure I can watch the next season.

The previews for Season 4 look wonderful. I agree, it was a shocker ending of Season 3 and I was a little upset because Mary finally seemed happy. But there's got to be some happy moments in Season 4.

I'm turning my phone off, logging off my computer and not moving from my seat on the couch for the first episode of Season 4!!

Mari-- The actor who played Matthew wanted to leave the series.

So Julian Fellows chose that ending. It was disturbing... and I expect Mary will continue to be negative and grieving for a while too.

I really enjoy this show... it is one of the few I can stand these days. TV is becoming a violent wasteland IMO. sigh.

I agree. Not much on these days worth watching.

I've gotten to where I watch PBS more and more these days. Their British comedies are really good. They also have some very interesting documentaries on. Nova comes on the other public broadcasting channel here (GPB) and I've been watching that, too. I only have the most basic cable package so I'm very limited in the channels I receive.

I have to say I am appalled at the turn Scandal has taken! Ugh....
Gosh.... even the cats were upset when I tried to watch this week's episode OnDemand yesterday. Weezie looked at me with the strangest expression...... she was appalled too.

It started off very interestingly last season, but this season it is nasty, violent, real torture of victims, disgusting...you name it.
It is so far "out there" as to be unwatchable. And Cyrus! enough already! And I won't even get into Mellie's problem with her late father in law!

I'll take Downton any day!

The cast (well, some of them) was on GMA this morning.

I know it's a show and these actors are playing characters but I just cannot get over how different they look in real life. Especially Mrs. Hughes.....I would never recognize her without her frumpy dress and hairstyle! And Mrs. Patmore! They're so young but play much older roles.
