Welcome to NeuroTalk, falldc.
It sounds like you're in a hard situation. Have you contacted his doctor to see if his behavior is normal for post-op? There might be a medication he could be on that would make both of your lives better. Nobody should have to live with being berated and disrespected. Especially in front of your family members. Just a suggestion.....you might want to also post in the New Members forum as this particular forum (Caregivers) doesn't get a whole lot of traffic. I hope things get better for you.
