Help! handicapped son with low temp!

Hi Billsf100 and WELCOME!!!


I've had a low normal body temp all my life.. my normal is 96.4
Same for my brothers and sisters.

95 and lower can be dangerous... that is the point where Hypothermia sets in....


I wish I had an answer as to what might cause this but I do not....

Hopefully someone will come along shortly who may be able to help you.

Default Low body temps 93.9-95.7
Thanks Abby for the welcome and taking time to write. Yesterday his temps ran from 93.9 to 95.7 We are worried the doctors are missing something here. A few things I left out, when he was a newborn he had surgery for PDA ligation, and a heel cord lengthening surgery to help him with walking. Any help is good help. Thanks to all.

Default One thing..
Have they thoroughly tested his thyroid? I'm not talking just the TSH, I mean the entire thyroid panel. Thyroid problems can cause low body temps. And a whole kit and kaboddile of other things.

Thanks for your interest. Yes we have took him to see an endo. and his thyroid was checked out. I wonder if an area of his brain has injury that contols things like body temp, hunger, and pain.
