Default Freakish Neuro Pain

Yes, I feel like a freak of nature......I had pin pricks that started slowly, randomly all over my body, everywhere from head to toe, not all at once, but never knowing where next. Started off about 10-20 a day, then to every 4 minutes (timed it), finally every 30 seconds or less. Had every neuro test known to man, spinal tap, 100 blood tests, MRI's, nothing found. My neuro gave me Gabapentin (900 mg/day), has wiped out 85% of these pains or I would be in a straight-jacket by now. My "break-thru" pains are sometimes now combined with odd sensations; water feeling, electric wormy feeling, vibrating feeling. Have also developed an internal tremor feeling on one side upon wakening.

Anyone up for a match? Feeling very misunderstood and odd.......

Really.......all of it???? Every 30 seconds? Internal tremor too??

Don't mean to come across as "disbelieving", but I have never "met" anyone with the same!

Me too!!! I thought I was the only one with these "internal tremors." LOL The other symptoms are common, but the internal stuff I thought I imagined. Mine happens frequently thru the day, not just when I wake up. I haven't said anything to anyone, as I felt I'd be looked upon as a nut!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Now I just wonder what the heck it is! LOL

By the way, I take Topamax for the burning, water feeling, nerve pain. It works GREAT!

Wow, now we have 2 freaks with no answers! lol!! A couple more ?'s for you, my fellow freak....

1. Are your tremors on one side? Where are they?
2. Are they when moving or when resting?
3. Do all you sensations (including tremor) stop when sleeping?
4. Do you have a diagnosis for abnormal sensations or is it a result of injury?
5. Did you have pricks all over the body, head to toe?

I had no injury, and have no diagnosis, feel like I am going to have a nervous breakdown from all of this (as of lately have RLS pain at night too).

I take Gabapentin, but have noticed some water retention, may check into Topamax. Gab. is working well for sensations, but don't need to add water weight, I can do that myself without pills.

Sorry for all the questions, but I desperatly need someone who understands, and it looks like you are the lucky one!

Let me see if I can answer these:

1. Mine are in the lower back, usually when sittiing.
2. Yes, they stop when, and IF I sleep, which is at a premium.
3. The "diagnosis" is neuropathy.
4. It's not from an injury ~ it's from degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, osteoarthritis, severe sciatica, etc.
5. I have pricks, burns, feeling of water, hot-poker, from the legs down

As i said, the Topamax takes care of the symptoms except for the "tremors" which started about 6 months ago. I have NOT mentioned it to my doc yet. i thought it was all in m head, and besides we've been trying to get my pain under control, and these tremors weren't first on my mind. LOL

I don't mind the questions. My life is an open book. hugs, Lee
